I bought an upscaling Bush DVD player around a week ago from CDiscount (even blogged it on HUKD).

Anyways the DVD player arrived (or rather what I thought was the dvd player) I opened it up and it was infact a DVD Projector - which as far as I know is just a Multimedia projector with a built in DVD player.

So instead of getting:

http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/DVDHomeCinema/DVDPlayers/f-421-180586.html

I recieved:

http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/TV/LCDProjectors/f-415-179405.html

I spent 20 minutes on hold to Cdiscount customer service number today and was on hold the whole time to an 0844 number (which I believe is premium rate). I have had problems getting in touch with CDiscount in the past - basically they dont reply to emails.

I want to be honest about this, but at the same time I dont want messed around trying to get in touch with them - anyone have any thoughts????

CRY.

Then nail yourself to a crucifix.

This is better and less painless than experiencing the utter, utter shambles that is cdiscount "customer service".

Good luck, you'll need it.

Count your blessings!!!! Flog it on Ebay and enjoy.
Unless you wanna spend a fortune in time and money trying to contact them.

To be honest, if this is not a pi** taking post, I would keep it.

You have evidence of trying to correct the matter, and not had a response. Keep it for a short amount of time to check that they wont follow it up, but their mistake.

is this serious btw?

Keep it... their fault not yours

Enjoy xx

Yeah totally serious post - to be honest I had to check my internet banking to make sure they had only charged me the right amount for the DVD player and they did - I will email them and wait for a few weeks Im sure I can find a use for it :whistling:

Keep it... if they can't run their business properly, why should you lose your time trying to fix their error?

It's nice to find an honest person.
I could take it off you if you feel guilty and they won't let you return it!
#19
To be honest, it will be a major inconvenience to you to try and return it. I speak from CDiscount being useless experience!!

So I emailed them so i can be honest with them - when on the phon he asked me to place the item in a bin bag, to print some slip or other out and he said he will "try" and get my dvd player now out to me!!

I should have just left it - you live and learn i guess........

in my experience CDISCOUNT CUSTOMER SERVICES IS ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL. their mistake but you do all the chasing.

i am with virgin home telephone and their rates for these numbers are not cheap i have had a bill with around 20 pounds of call charges to cdiscount as they always put you onhold as experiencing high call volumes (prob all their unsatisfied customers)

i returned a faulty wardrobe (had all fittings missing), an item which they arranged home delivery to collect on 13 march, after many calls and emails to them, even after speaking to a manager who said yes i will speak to finance and get refund issued. guess what i am still waiting for it to come into my bank, and i have been calling them and they just state , our notes say your refund has been issued , (they can tell me this as there are many notes on this on their computer screens.(due to me calling and emailing to chase it up ) oh and i am always told somebody will call me back with an update but i have had no calls.

i have ordered alot (about 1300 pounds worth) from cdiscount and if things dont go wrong they are great. as good value and the 3discount scheme helps alot
also check the payments they take for 3discount they took an additional payment for a cancelled order, which they did refund quickly, (when i eventually got through to an advisor)

better to call as they take ages to return emails.

also 2 other items occurred problems out of the 14 days warranty so had to call the relevant companies to try and get it sorted.

it is better in the long term if buying large or expensive items to pay a bit more and have a good after sales service in my opinion
