Ok i really hope i dont get in trouble for this and i am not going to disclose anything about my business.

I wanted to know, what can i do to offer HUKD members offers that we have on our site. I didnt feel it was right to put a deal up we have that would appeal to some members but i had a member from HUKD find my site and ask me if they could put it up on HUKD. I told them not to as i didnt want to get banned as i love this site for my own personal use.

I did send a message to HUKD through the contact us button but havent heard for a while now.

Also if this is not allowed at all on the forum, please do lock it and i wont post it up again. Sorry its just that i hadnt had a response when i contacted hukd a while ago so thought id post up

Thanks

#2

#3
also - why dont you report your thread (click on red triangle) and ask a mod to look at your post - might get a bit more help that way

good luck!

you will have to use the contact us form, to discuss it with admin, as any deals they think worthy they will post, not to sure how it works though, surely it shouldnt be down to what they feel is a deal
#5
think it would be classed as self promotion-also they dont allow deals from sole traders in any circumstances.
#6
I did use the contact form a while ago but ive also just reported this thread hoping a mod can look at it. Thanks

are you a sole trader? If so, no chance
#8
Self promo isn't generally allowed, but you seem to have gone the right way about things and it's a shame that no one has got back to you ......good luck with your business.
#9
Yes a sole trader at the moment. Thats fine if that is the rules :). I thought, if i dont ask, i wont know so its good to get some answers from all of you :)

you sure about that sassie? I posted a code which was a newspaper promo(daily record) for a FREE bottle of fake tan and it was removed because the offer was from a sole trader.

i didnt realise that sole traders could not be advertised on here, why is that then, surely if its a code for money off it shouldnt make a difference if done properly, can understnad stock levels if a deal, but then argos only has the odd item to sometimes
#15
Both i believe but i will wait for a mod to post just to clear things up. Reading above, am pretty sure it wont be allowed.

I am only a sole trader at the moment as ive been up and running for 4 months

yep-I didnt realise either til a coupla weeks ago-the fake tan offer was a full page promo in a national newspaper-just enter the code for a free bottle so I posted it to share and got removed and the rule pmd to me-not complaining,if thats the rules fair enough, just never realised til then.

I really hate spammers and one off cheeky traders that just use this site to advertise, but someone like OP that has been a member since 2006 should be alllowed to put up details of their new business in my opinion, it's obviously someone that has used this site for a while and is giving back what they have gained from it.

But thank you to all those who have posted. Great insight and hopefully one day in the near future i will no longer be a sole trader :)

from the deal criteria link above, unfortunately sold traders aren't allowed currently@
Please note, we do not allow:

Referrals

3rd party affiliate links

Amazon MarketPlace/PlayTrade/ Priceminster marketplace deals

eBay auctions/eBay based sellers (except for ebay Daily Deals or ebay Outlet Retailers)

Self promotion of any kind

Spam

Non UK sites (except those pre-approved by Admin)

UK Sole Traders/Individuals
All new posts, for new companies, by any members, will be checked out, and may be pulled from the viewable forums while we do so.

We do ask any traders who do meet the merchant criteria to use the main Contact Us link to get in touch with the Admin Team regarding submitting their deal rather than posting directly on the forums as it would be classed as self promotion, Thanks again.

I'm guessing here but HUKD won't allow promotion of sole trader websites, because...

1) Sole traders aren't registered businesses
2) Anyone can knock up a site and claim to be legit

If I also remember rightly, if enough people ask for the website to be allowed on here, then the admin will look into the possibility. It's happened with quite a few sites.

P.s. Preciousb - You got the ebay template installed fine?
#30
Yes thank you soo much with that :). You made things very easy for me faevilangel

of course a sole trader is a registered business, otherwise they wouldn't be classed as a sole trader. In fact you can have more protection with a sole trader as he is personally liable for any debts rather than a ltd company that isn't.

Not sure why sole traders aren't allowed whereas partnerships seem to be ok?
