Ok who else thinks Britain should be disassembled and England- Scotland Wales and N.Ireland all operate separately and erase the name Britain or United Kingdom

I just hate the phrase British + United Kingdom its not where i was born i was born in England

Anyone else think the same

Always found it strange that Scotland/Ireland/Wales seemed so keen on devolution and so keen on membership of the EU.
-Meet the new Boss , Same as the old Boss !!

I am English first, British second. Wouldn`t hesitate to support Scotland/Ireland/Wales in a sporting event if no English representation - would any of them do the same ?
#9
Yeh we might aswell be seperate cos not everyone is getting same in England as those are in Scotland and Wales.Come to think of it,not everyone is getting same from county to county are they,it's different everywhere you go.

How about this... while abroad I mentioned that I was returning back to the UK... just as I'd said that some English w*nk*r turned round and said "you mean England!".

That about sums up my attitude.

I thought it was foreigners that called the UK or Britain just England

Good points and I agree completely. I will always support the other home nations apart from we are playing against them. Always will. Only real exception is my refusal to support Ars*nal in Europe. But then they are French so dont really count!!!

I'm past caring if Scotland (in particular), Wales or NI want shot of the UK. I think it will be a shame and I do also think things wont be greener. But if Salmon is your fish, then so be it.

Just hope they rebuild Hadrians Wall :whistling:

Nope, you are not English, you are not Welsh or whatever - you ARE British.

If I got a form on it where someone had wrote English, Scottish etc on it instead of British, I would immediately discard it as they are obviously not intelligent enough to know their own nationality. Would you really want to loose the possibility of getting a job for example, just because your stupid/idiotic enough not to know or admit your proper nationality?

And what about the countless signs and documents all over the world in English (sometimes even multiple languages) as well as the local language?

It is only the same.

Agree 100%.

How many Brits go abroad each year to places like Benidorm etc and speak Spanish for the duration of their holiday?

Most Brits automatically expect people in foreign countries to automatically speak English, even though its not the first language of the country.

Last time i was in Barcelona most of the people i met knew a little English.. In France i could not find one person who spoke English. Being part of the EU isn't so bad considering it makes things a lot easier if you decide to live in another country within it.

The exchange rate is really poor atm. I'd gladly swap to Euro if they give us all €1.5 to the £
