http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=289081

I am surprised there has been very little response to this comment, is that because most people who saw it agree with the statement?

I was not shocked, just so sad, that is how some people view the world

Perhaps becasue the person who wrote it loves to insult as many as possible

Some people view the world in all sorts of ways, leave them to it.

I view women as sex objects, but realise that it is my own warped mind, and not reality. :)

then again, I havent worked in two years :?

I shop in argos quite a bit, and i work in an investment bank.. .so totally bull ****.

people who say things like that are the kind that would spend £250 on the wallets the sell in the "PRADA" shop i went in the other day, just because its PRADA LMAO.

the comment that grex made "True, full of benefit scum and single mothers. Still it's worth it to save some £££" is just as bad as racism.

truely evil comment, but more than likely not meant, and just the guy was having a bad day. I hope. or has the world really got like that?
#7
I dont live too far away from Shannon Mathews and if you saw the place you would realise the world really has got like that,To them jobs are something stupid peple do who havent worked out how to get everything without lifting a finger,

It's just an attention seeking comment, there was a whole attention seeking thread on it the other day until the mods finally stepped in a deleted it

Unfortunately the people who say it don't actually mean it they just get a kick out of the reaction they get on here as they know there are lot of single mothers and people on benefits why use the site.

I don't know why they get a kick out of it but they do. It's called fishing or trolling.

OP - I'm assuming that was the reason for his/her suspension.
Perhaps s/he will think twice before posting insulting rubbish again.

At least you'll be able to find a job easy :giggle:

& rightly so that peeps do not respond to a stupid statement like that.
Never feed an idiot.

My Dad is on the dole,.

But only because he has to be.
He is 62 and was made redundent last year from his job of 35 years as a sign maker.

He really really wants to work, but is faced with the fact no one will employ him.

I do understand why some people do choose to be on the dole though, as it pays good. My dad is currently earning more on the dole than he could from any average job. (i guess due to his age) But still he is looking for work, and hates not working.

I hope that is the case. Just stupidly rather than actually holding those attitudes. I'm not so sure though. I've also seen enough of the same attitudes expressed in a serious way on these boards, usually in reaction to real news stories and the like. But most people are cowardly about it and will only express their prejudice and hate against those they think others will agree with them about.

On a slightly different note, take the labelling of Karen Matthews by police as "pure evil". Imo, it's a typical example of how quick people condemn in an exaggerated way, and find it acceptable to do so when they believe others will agree. Yes, her actions were despicable and worthy of condemnation - but "pure evil"? Please!

It's easy to hate when you don't think too deeply about cause and effect.

That's exactly what I was thinking last night. Hitler and Saddam are considered 'pure evil', I can't see how genocide etc compare tbh.

It appeals to the masses though.
It's like the "Off with their heads!!!" threads that appear on here weekly.

No thought process has gone into their comments at all.

Highlighting this just brings it to more ppls attention.

Grex is entitled to his opinion whether or not you or I agree with it.

It's only the intranet.

Will always be people wanting to get something for nothing and milking the system. It is wrong to assume everybody is the same.

I have a relative aged 23, never worked and on benefits. He has a learning disability and gets DLA and incapacity benefit. He is physically capable, he gets support to help on a variety of community projects which he loves and he calls this his job (no income).

I am sure we all know single mothers or fathers bringing up children. Most that I know did not become single by choice, changes in relationships happen and they are doing a great job as a single parent.

To use the word scum in this context is just so demoralising to those who have no choices about their situation
#29
Way I see it is that the statement was made to entice people, to provoke and to invoke some reaction.....you took the bait and that happened.

But havent you done the same by putting the same statement in your post title? all you have done is the same as the other person, included words to entice, to provoke and to invoke a reaction from people......you're doing the same thing.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and while not everyone will agree, its best to accept that people have differing opinions. That way everyone can move on and enjoy things that are more important to them.

Same here dad is 58 and has a degree plus does a lot of charity work and wants to work but keeps getting rejected over say 21 year olds who just left college with few qualications and only last a few months, and just got a letter saying his moneys being reduced.

Now my dad is ill, he can work but isnt allowed to do things like heavy lifting as it could kill him yet the jobcentre stopped his money a few years ago as they had factory work available and he said he couldnt do it and they said he didnt have a good enough reason not too.

I remember last year saying I knew some people on disablity who were stereotype chavvy smackheads who had a flat where in every room was loads of drugs, got disabilty benefit but worked full time, sublet the place, got community care grants etc and yet I lived in a grotty damp flat above and was told reporting them was petty.

Thanks - it's good to hear you guys had the same reaction. I was actually pretty surprised the BBC kept reporting the comment. I understand they have to remain impartial, but it became their sound-bite of the day! It started to sound like a headline from The Sun.

Yes I took the bait. Maybe the quote was a joke, troll or genuine opinion.

Agree. I did a separate thread to provoke a response to the assumption that all those on benefits and single mothers are scum.
