Best Acronym for an Employee of the Month Award?

Like PRIDE - Personally Responsible In Delivering Excellence.

Im working on a project at work where we are looking to come up with a Staff Recognition Scheme. The decision has been made that staff will be given the opportunity to nominate colleagues for awards and an overall Employee of the Month Award.

At the moment, someone has come up with EWE - Employees Who Excel (with a sheep picture behind) - bl**dy awful if you ask me. Any better suggestions.......hopefully????

personally hate these schemes tho-they have them in asda and they just become a joke. people who get them generally are embarrassed by them,some people moan that xyz didnt deserve it,it sets some above others when you are supposed to be creating a team-just look on the employee of the month board next time you are in mcdonalds to see how cringeworthy these schemes are.

far better to have a monthly reward for the entire team for hitting certain targets. just my opinion tho.

I agree that these schemes are always sl*gged off by the employees who never get them, but what other 'non-monetary' recognition schemes are there?

We recently conducted a staff survey where the staff said that recognition was a major factor.

Why on earth do you need an acronym for it. just call it an "award". Far too many acronyms and abbreviations in use everywhere these. "Award" is only two syllables so most of your colleagues should be able to manage! We have these things where I work, and we do indeed call them "awards".

Simple and much more appreciated than some sort of monthly contest.

You could do this, however merely giving the staff compliments on a job well done would be enough for me to be honest. My morale was uber low before I left Spar, partially due to the amount of work I did that was never acknowledged.

A scheme like this is nice, but it's unlikely to sit well - Just make a more conscious effort to say "Thanks" or "Good work" or "Well done" etc for tasks that have been assigned.

Also, it may be worth encouraging staff to submit any ideas they may have to improve the business - New ways of doing things, improvements that could be made without or without the use of IT etc - New ideas could give the business a strategic advantage.

(Apologies, I'm revising this sort of stuff at the moment for my exam next week, next think I'll start talking about business process redesign and Change management lmao.) However, it's still relevant - And the thank you thing is a biggie, I was so annoyed before I left my retail job because of the lack of recnogition I received as a fairly long term member of staff with a lot of knowledge of the store and high capabilities - being appreciated is nice.
