I have a Philips SC477 Dect monitor, which is excellent. No interference and good reception. It's 2 years old so I think there is now a more up to date model

One I wouldn't recommend is a Lindam digital dect monitor. We bought one 7 months ago for our son and it was totally unreliable. I eventually took it back for a full refund

It is really difficult to choose, good luck

The BT 100 and 150 have really good reviews... one of the main diff between the two is that the 150 has temperature display.

I can't recommend a specific one, but do recommend these features:
2 way - so you can talk to your other half - ask for extra bottles, medicine etc without leaving the baby room.
DECT - very clear and excellent range
Variable sensitivity - you don't need or want to hear every little squeak, just the important ones

We have a Video Monitor that we got from Makro but there is one the same on eBay -

It has been invaluble being able to see her & check she's ok without disturbing her - I would reccomend this 100%!

Good luck!

I had/have:oops: the Tommee Tippee Sensor pad one and to me it was a godsend! Admitidly, I am a worrier and this gave me the security I needed. The only prob with the video one is u can't keep an eye on babe when ur asleep. With the mattress pad the alarm would go if baby didn't move (inc. breathing) for 20 seconds. This did go off 2 or 3 times when my daughter was younger and you can imagine how fast I ran up those stairs lol But it was still worth it and I would recommend 100%
They sell in Argos for £53.79 I paid about £80 ish if I remember rightly

This isn't two way though and I agree with backtothecaves, would have been handy

You don't need 2 way to hear your other half who's in the baby room

I have the tommee tippee suresound ultimate monitor which i have found to be very good as it has a sensor pad which is placed underneath the mattress. It monitors sound, temperature and movement. An
alarm will sound after 20 seconds if the sensor pad detects no movement.
I bought it from http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/suresound_ultimate_monitor/
but have noticed that it is cheaper on amazon

i am using, at this very moment in time the TOMY walkabout baby advance
think it was about £35, its two way so you can talk to baby when she is awake and has a good range on it

I am looking for a baby monitor as well, been looking at reviews and currently looking out for the Safety 1st High Clarity monitor. Retails around £160.00, but found cheapest on babycare. Still looking though as baby isn't due till mid April.

Good luck, I will keep an eye on this thread for future advice.
