Haha, It was endless, once you start to think it becomes one of those real reminders of a misspent youth lol, I just keep thinking of more and more, there were so many, I'm guessing you're my age roughly, so no, dont dare say old!!!!!

Definitely, but I said Iron Maiden and Metallica as they're from the 80s in terms of when they recorded and released their first albums (Iron Maiden with 'Iron Maiden' in 1980 (although I prefer the Bruce Dickinson era which began with Number of the Beast in 1982) and Metallica with 'Kill 'Em All' in 1983), began to gain notoriety and were ultimately at their best.

The Misfits recorded their first album, Static Age, in 1978, however it wasn't officially released until nearly 20 years later. Their major output was during the 80s though; Walk Among Us, Earth A.D., Evilive, Legacy of Brutality, Collection I (often known as Misfits) and EPs like Beware and 3 Hits From Hell. However, quite a bit of what they released in the 80s (aside from the two major albums and live album) was recorded in the late 70s and was available at the time.

So The Misfits to me aren't strictly an 80s band, and although Metallica and Iron Maiden are still going, their best work in my opinion was created during that period (The Number of the Best, Piece of Mind, Powerslave and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son / Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppes and ...And Justice for All). Of course The Misfits continued, but dropped the 'The' and without Danzig, it was nearly impossible to ever replicate their classic sound.

That's my reasoning behind my answers and I'm fully aware that I'm blabbing. If you want to class The Misfits as 80s, then they are definitely one of the best bands of the period ;-)
