DIRT 2 or Race Driver GRID :)

not cars but Wipeout HD + Fury is the best racing game.

Other than that then Burnout Paradise is the best cars game by far. It's aracadey so it depends whether you prefer realistic racers.

This.

Off topic...I've heard BLUR is going to be the 1st CROSS PLATFORM racing game for PS3 and 360! Thats the best way to sort out the fan boys, a race off between the 2 consoles! Great idea! Editted: Aparently it is compete with each others STATS and not real time racing. Pah!

Grid.

GRID..its gran turismo with alot fun and a lot less serious/fustrating! plenty big too, and you cant knock the visuals. This is one game i have not sold on.

Is there an easy way of going to events (ala Burnout revenge) other than driving over the whole sodding city?? Its a good game but map reading at 200mph on a 2" square map is not my forte. Also the rubber banding of the AI is seriously bad IMO, wrote off my car when I was eighth and still won, all this from about 1mile left to race. Easy (silver) trophies though - ie your D class licence for winning about 3 events is silver!!

Loved DiRT1, not played 2. Possibly my pick, and Dirt 2 is supposed to be even better.....

Not a big wipout HD fan, just seems the same endless track with different corners in it (lol). No change in scenery is what I think I mean, or not for the 5 tracks I played.

Just bought Grid, not played it yet

Couldn't get on with Ridge racer 7 although initially it was very promising.

There is (or was) a demo for RR7, Wipeout, and Dirt 2.

burnout has a patch out that allows you to restart events without driving to the start again. Use unlock codes to open all the events.

Thanks for the info guys.

I had Grid but I was "poo" at it so couldn't get into it and have played Burnout on the 360 and tbh, I wasn't too fussed about it. Also had Gran Turismo which just wasn't that interesting, not as I expected anyway.

Got WipeoutHD which I love and not played Dirt 1 or 2 so maybe Dirt 2 if I can get cheap(ish). Could get hold of Midnight Club LA for around £7 which is why I asked about that one.

There's also a demo of Need for Speed Shift which I don't think anyone has mentioned
