I agree they are big programs, but they are not slow.
They will only appear so if your pc is incapable of running them. If so, all other software will behave the same.

Deep burner free....always works for me...clicked on the link posted first (good advice) and they say about deepburner....a much smaller download package and has a smaller installation footprint. It also offers a portable version that can be executed as a stand-alone application from a USB drive.

Free Easy CD DVD Burner V3.8

I started using this for the exact same reasons as you... takes a minute to get used to but the fact it does all the burning for 5.82mb is crazy! no cd cover maker or all that ****! give it a go!

are you using the latest nero?

it's too over engineered

at startup all the little tray things from nero even slowed down my quad core 3.2ghz machine! (only at startup)

try infrarecorder:

http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

the interface same as nero

You can uninstall them. I only install Nero express, drivespeed and nerovision. The rest of the stuff is pretty useless to me and hogs your PC in the same way AOL, DELL, Norton, Mcafee etc software does. Why do they do that!!!

Nero 7 loads super quick (5 secs) and burns a full dvd in 6 mins every time. You cant beat it, especially for a fiver (unless you torrent and dont mind spending ages trying to beat the authenticity checks).

To the OP. Make sure you use Nero Express. Its called Express for a reason

http://cdburnerxp.se/ - Free, lightweight, burns CD's and DVD's
http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ - More features (a bit like Nero) than the above, also free

always the best way. stay a year behind new releases of any software in the same way you shouldnt buy a brand new model of car. You are just an unpaid beta tester.

cheaper too that way

Just tried that infrarecorder. Uninstalled straight away as no way is it as easy to use as nero express. its pretty much the same as Nero Burning ROM.

Good that its free though.

InfraRecorder is pretty much like Nero Burning ROM, that's right and a good thing in my book. It should have installed InfraExpress too......now that's easy, just like NeroExpress but without the horrid colour scheme.

i'm impressed with this thread! no fighting!

yeah I used to use 7 but upgraded to 8 and was a disaster! I like the fact that my burner only takes 5mb of space! (think its 10mb installed)

but I have portable nero on my u3 drive..
