Can anyone recommend a good low cost dial up internet provider?. It's for basic temporary use and I don't want to sign up to a broadband account at that address. I can see that there are a lot around offering 0845 and 0844 numbers...is this the way to go?

Cheers

Get a Broadband mobile dongle. It's so much more convienient.

You're probably better off, and cheaper using a PAYG mobile broadband dongle.

Yeah but I'll be out in the sticks with no WiFi...isn't that a problem?

It doesnt work using WiFi. It uses the same method as mobile phones. So if you have a mobile phone out in the sticks then a mobile broadband usb dongle will work just as well.

No mobile phone needed actually, but as you're looking at at least £40 up front and half the speed of dial-up if you're out in the sticks then it's still not a great idea for a months use.

If you've got a high-tech phone then you can use that as the mobile broadband modem. Capacities tend to be very limited, but as the speeds you'll get you probably won't be bothered.

The best dial-up offers used to be x amount a month for unlimited usage but I don't know what they are these days.
