Now that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has been out a few weeks, I wondered which console out of the 360 and PS3, those people who have had experience of both would consider to be the one best for driving games?

I love both Forza and PGR2 on the original xbox, and that's the kind of driving game I like to play (semi-sim/semi-arcade circuit type racing games, rather than gaes that are purley arcade or purely sim). So the 360 obviously gets plus points for PGR4 and Forza 2, but Gran Turismo look pretty darn good on the PS3 too. I'm a PC gamer at heart but due to the lack of thses types of titles on the PC, I'm seriously thinking of getting a console, so just wondered what people's thoughts on the matter were?

Would you be using a wheel and pedals? how important is this to you? if so maybe you should base your decision on which console has the best peripherals.....

Must admit I found forza 2 really frustrating. You driving really well for most of the race and one bad corner and you've lost but I suppose thats real racing!!

Nah, unfortunately I can't use them so have to make do with the gamepads.

Well GT prologue is gimped (4 tracks is it?). So yeah, you have like forza and PG4 vs GT as most of the rest are multiformat.

Forza online is supposed to be a lot better than GT at the moment too.

GT5 Prologue.
PS3.

Can you hand on heart say that's because GT5 Prologue is a better game, or is it because it's on the PS3? i.e. If Forza 2 and GPR4 were on the PS3 and GT5 Prologue was on the 360, would you be recommending that I get the 360?

Not even a contest; PS3 all the way.

Wheels;
Logitech G25
Logitech Driving Force GT
Logitech Driving Force Pro

Exclusive games;
Motorstorm (2 is out around xmas)
F1
GT5:P
RR7
Wipout HD (summer)
Ferrari Challenge (out next month)

gd miester agreed with too

GT5 has 6 rtacks and is rubbish, I loved 3 & 4 hated Prolog this one and the first one!!! When the real GT5 comes out it should be great but at the moment he questions is Forza or a Demo!!!!

forza is great but it has its problems like when you crash you always get drawn into the corner when you should't but still best Next Gen car game

What's Motorstorm like to play? Whenever I've seen clips of it, it always seems like one huge cluster[wordwecan'tsay]. Lots of bumping and barging, rather than out and out racing.

RR7 and Wipeout probably verge on the arcadey side of things.

F1 does look good though. Will have to look into Ferrari Challenge

xbox 360

forza 2
burnout revenge
burnout paradise
need for speed carbon
need for speed pro street
pgr3
pgr4
sega rally
colin mc crae

Im sure theres more one coming out this/next month

360 gaes can be picked up pretty cheap.

However from what i've seen GT5:P looks better then forza and PGR, but if GT5:P only has a few tracks it could get boring fast

With the exception of burnout revenge, the PGRs and Forza, all those can be had on the PS3 too. :?

carbon cant be had for ps3?

oh i didnt see you requesting exclusives only?

i would get the ps3 if only for racing games.

but 360 for a mixture of games.

Hehe...Got that for both the PC and PSP. Great game, one of my favs, but I doubt I'd get it for the console as well. :)

PS3

Burnout Paradise (arcade)
Motorstorm (off road)
GT5P (simulation)

Total driving satisfaction for me :)

If you have a decent HD setup bluray is great and the ps3 hardware is fantastic quality really is Burnout is MUCH better on PS3.

PS3 is better value, if you dont need a hard drive and dont mind the possibility of it failing and needing to be repaired get a £135 360
#22
Tbh, Test drive is the only reason i bought a new 360.

It broke AGAIN though :) So PS3 FTW.
#23
Well have been playing GT5P and yes its good, but tend to have more fun on mario cart on my ds.
#24
Xbox 360.
#25
its easily ps3 yet im buying a 360 first

Yeah, if I had a HDTV, I would probably go for the PS3, just for the bonus of the Blu-Ray player, but as I don't, it makes the choice harder, where the 360 is cheaper.
#27
No HD t.v? then id go for a xbox 360 defo.

the xbox 360 will be outdated within next 2 years where as the ps3 will be around for atleast next 5 years.ps3 is an all round media hub in one unit.every month you have to plug an after thought into an xbox 360 to keep up.gt5 prologue awesome graphics and awesome online racing and free too no need too buy points like xbox live.

I'm an xbox 360 fanboy, So my opinion counts for nothing. If you're only going to be using a controller, then get a 360, the triggers are much better for racing than sony's effort.
