Best course of action for idiot wide boys speeding around my street?

I have recently bought a new house in a lovely quiet area. However, there are some chavy lottery winners living around the corner who are speeding past my house. I have just had my 2 kittens spayed so they will be going out to play soon eeek.

There is one done up clio who's is the son of the owner of the house and he has 3 mates in equally stupid cars. We can hear them before we see them though. They come around my house (as we are on corner plot) like maniacs.

I dont know what to do. One day I lost my temper when I saw him cleaning his car and nearly shouted at him, but decided I would probably get my car smashed in, so left it.
I am thinking of writing an annonymous letter asking him kindly to stop speeding and pass the message to his mates. My sister said he will probably go even faster. I doubt the Police will be interested!

Please can anyone help me?

Do you really think so? I tried filming it but by the time I have set it up they have gone.....grrr

also note the times they come and go so the Police have a better chance of catching them at it.

It's anti social behaviour and is negatively impacting on your quality of life in what you say to be a nice area, so I would hope that they would take notice.

we are happy to take licenses off idiots, we can take a statement from you, video footage or try to catch them at it (bit more difficult) we need a careless driving and an anti-social element

Can i ask please, what will you do, when you let your kittens out in the next few weeks, and they go and foul your "chavvy" neighbour's garden? I don't have time for cats, nor pets to be blunt, i know that many many more folks do but i don't and don't like it when they come in my garden and foul. What will you do?

As for them driving, in your opinion speeding, i did smile at this, and apologies for so doing. See, biggest problem i have car wise, is to live near a good quality primary school. The parents double park, with no regards for the neighbours who actually have to live near by. When you ask them to move their cars, it's like you have committed a crime lol. It's always the well to do's that are in the right eh?

I hope you get it sorted but the tone of the OP is very, holier than though

Because a cat crapping in your garden is the same as speeding in a residential area possible causing serious harm or damage.

isnt there something in highway code about NOT parking on or near a blind bend . . .

Tell your boyfriend to grow a p[air and get out there and deal with it instead of cowering behind the door and leaving you to seek advice on a shopping forum.

I wasn't playing the compare the crime game, but it's a well known fact that dog faeces can affect eyesight, and i am guessing cat's aint good for ya either lol.
The police, i doubt very much will be able to do out unless they actually see it, or the OP is prepared to sign a witness statement, and as i said, good luck
I wonder if all the advisers, and the OP have ever drove a car above the legal limit for where they are driving? Hmmm, have a think eh? I ask that as someone who works on the roads and see idiots driving badly, dangerously every day, and speak with folks every day who have to deal with the consequences

On a quiet night, wear a hoodie, smash in his windscreen and slash his tyres then key his car! That should hush him up for a while that's until he get's it fixed!

Never heard that in my life, how in gods name could looking at a pile of crap affect your eyesight, unless you mean it causes damage if it comes in contact with your eye, in which case who the **** rubs dog crap in their eye?

Anyway, it is of no relevence if us or the OP has ever sped, there are people speeding in a residential area which is obviously an issue the OP wants resolved.

I never said, looking at crap would affect your eyesight did i? I don't know anyone who rubs it in their eyes but if a child is playing in a garden, who knows what the child will do in it's own garden.

Forgive me but why is if of no relevance? It's the holier than though. You cannot speed, (in the OP's opinion it is speeding, sounds more like the noise of the car is the issue, since they said you can hear it before you see them) but i'll be letting my kittens out soon and i want them safe.

And again, why is it of no relevance the speeding. Speeding in a residential is just the same as breaking the speed limit anywhere else where it's enforceable. You all wanna take a look at yourselves, you're all saying the OP is right, cos in their opinion the "chavvy" neighbour's speed, have a look at your own speedometer eh?

I will offer some free advice. Contact your local police, see what they say but chances are, they'll do little, will be low on their agenda resources wise and it's a harsh reality i'm afraid. Not sure filming it will help, vigilantism for sure won't but it's upto the OP

The child would have to be a retard to rub crap in their eyes. I would say speeding in a residential area is worse than speeding on a country road, but obviously they are the same in the law. And i need not take a look at myself since i dont drive.

If you have a webcam point it to the road and try yawcam, set it up to detect motion and record it :)

Don't be stupid if a cat craps in someones garden and a child is playing on the lawn, then it doesn't take a genius to work out that they may get crap on their hands which could then inadvertently be transferred to the eyes.

I don't have kids but have been one once and kids so all kinda nonsense. They don't have to directly rub crap in their eyes, but it's gets on their toys, on their hands, they rub their face, job done. You're taking the point too literally, have a quick internet search please on the danger's and whilst it is not what the OP is about, it's a bug bare for some, as is speeding for the OP.

Then, i cannot chide you for speeding can i and hope that you never do, or do those ever close to you, get affected by someone speeding. I would say the same to your example of speeding, but is driving in a closed off lane (Red x) acceptable then hitting and killing a road worker? No? It happens alas, speeding is great fun, driving fast is great til your car comes to a very quick halt alas as i keep saying, i doubt much can be done, best OP can do, i say for last time, is contact police and not ask us, who, lets face it, none of us know do we?

Micoo - I know an adult who got toxoplasmosis in their eye - presumably they rubbed their eye when their hand was contaminated. Fortunately the antibiotics worked otherwise they were told their eye would have to be removed as the infection travels along the optic nerve.....

I suppose so, but this seems like an awful large waste of time seeing as all that has really happened is i now know something i already knew - Don't rub crap in your eye or don't rub your eye if crap has been handled.

Cannot believe there's someone on here defending the situation. Whether or not they are actually speeding is immaterial, as it sounds (going by the OP's word) that they are driving dangerously in a residential area, which is an offence in itself.

Yeah, people can be affected by domestic animal faeces, it's unfortunate and not entirely unavoidable, unlike driving your car like a 'tard in a built-up area. I think that would have a more detrimental affect on a child's well-being than some cat/dog ****.

+ are the cars really speeding 30mph in a modified car can make it sound a lot faster than it really is
if you saw a normal car you doing the same speed you probably wouldn't notice

So if the cats get run over by the speeding motorist the problem of clearing up cat crap and potential blindness is solved.

Sorted.
