Best diet whey protein drink to look in to?

Hi guys. I've been hitting the gym hard for a few months now to lose weight & to tone up. I'm now at a stage where I'm looking in to suppliants to aid me with this process.

I am getting confused as to what protein drinks are best for you as there is so many different kinds. Any past experiences on different protein drinks would be great.

from what I've heard, Impact brand (sold on MyProtein) is one of the best tastewise.

whey protein isolate is probably the best for someone like yourself as it's about 70-80% protein and little else.

but just bear in mind that a supplement is just that, it is literally just additional macronutrients (in this case protein) on top of your normal diet, and is generally no better than natural foods.
most people just use it as a more palatable (and generally cheaper) alternative to chicken or other high protein foods.

I use phd diet whey which tastes good and works along with 1000mg CLA capsules and green tea capsules. use these in combination and you will see bigger loses. Phd diet whey in morning for brekfast with 2 green tea caos and 2 cla caps. Then phd diet whey again after workout with 2cla's again. Dont take the green tea in the evening or before bed as it hinders sleep.

Protein is very basic - No need for these Documentries but they did back up my theory of it.

We all need protein, so unless you cannot eat a decent daily limit through food, then yes take a protein shake to top your levels up.

But are these shakes NEEDED - No, only if you cannot eat enough protein.

myprotein true whey is very good tasting, in particular choc mint and rasp ripple and mix very well.
didn't find the vanilla,chocolate, chocolate orange or strawberry that great and their unflavoured was cheesy.
they used to take the cost of a sample off next proper order but cant see that any more.

Thank you, sounds like sound advice. As I said in initial post, this will go along side my training regime and diet. I'm well aware losing weight isn't a simple fix and I am working hard to achieve my goals!

Thanks, again this sounds like sound advice. I'll bear this in mind when looking to purchase.
There doesn't seem to be many offers around right now though, I saw brilliant offers in the summer, but I wasn't in the right place to buy them then!

Okay - let me rephrase. Which is best for me? I do want to tone muscle as well as lose weight, so it's all too confusing for me! lol

not really going to be a significant difference in any - its just a source of protein for you.
is your diet clean enough and planned enough for the difference to be clear in the end?

If you're losing weight don't bother with it tbh, just eat 2 chicken breasts a day and some eggs.

probably not

This is my average day for eating.

Breakfast - Bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk
Mid morning - Piece of fruit

Lunch - Sandwich & an apple or something light like jacket potato & beans
Mid afternoon - Another piece of fruit

Dinner - Piece of meat/fish with mixed veg & potato's (A stew or Spag Bol once a week)
Mid evening - Another piece of fruit

Only liquids I'm currently drinking is Water. I will have between 4-6 pints a day.

I'd be careful about how much fruit you're eating, some fruit can be very high in sugars, even if the are natural sugars.
It's always good to snack on nuts like peanuts, cashew, pistachios, etc. (just don't go crazy) to get essential good fats, especially on the days that you don't have any fish
