Best HD camcorder for around £300!

Hi Guys,
Im after a camcorder for under £300 preferably HD and not a cheap nasty plastic SD card style thing!
I would like FULL HD and ive been looking into the JVC GZ-HD10 model which i have now seen for £270 + quidco of 8% which makes a VERY cheap FULL HD 1080 camcorder with 40GB HDD built in!
But are their any others similar spec for this price?
and what are peoples opinions of the JVC HD10 VS SANYO WH1 ?
I like the waterproof gimmick but as i doubt ill be doing much underwater filming so its a gimmick i can live without!

Any suggestions???
Thanks

Quite a few decent HD cameras use SD cards now....

exactly...personally id say opt for one with a SD card, easy to change, can carry as much memory on you as you want especially with upto 32gb sdhc cards now!

but i think OP means the cheapo no branding ones.

I picked up the next model up in the JVC range from PCWorld last Friday for £280.
The HD30 has noticeably better features than the HD10 so it’s worth trying to see if you can get one although it was a discontinued item so the odds are poor.
For a comparison see here.
I used it today for the first time in depth and am pleased so far.

Nice find. It has some significant upgrades over the HD10 including a larger sensor.
