oh sorry mate, £150 wasn't up there when i posted.

the desire is about £250 right now.

A good phone for your budget might be a HTC Hero (about £100 second hand)

or an Orange San Francisco but obviously this isn't an HTC phone

another thing you could do... is buy a HTC HD2 and put android on it. not sure how much they go for these days but will be cheaper than the desire and has a similar screen to the desire HD

thanks BG. just seen the HTC Desire Z and it looks awesome. any idea how much it'd be on PAYG around christmas ?

you're looking at £450 PAYG for the Desire Z. You might get the odd one or 2 contract ones for sale around christmas which you'll be able to pick up for a little less. From experiance you don't really need the keyboard unless you're gonna use msn or yahoo a lot, for texting the on screen keyboard is very fast.
