you need to see what fits your car first...try Mothercare, toysrus, or Halfords on a quiet day....
you can also use the Britax fitfinder online which will tell you which Britax fits each seat in your car model. Then look for a bargain when you know which you want.
Generally the Britax first class fits most cars, and I have never had a problem with the Maxi cosi priori XP-both brilliant seats. Have a look?

Avenger's looking for the stage up from these. The ones you mention are only up to 40lbs.

The high backed booster type seats are universal so they fit in near enough any car.

oh sorry i must have been half asleep....
although still maintain you should try your child in the seat first-universal or not.
The maxi cosi rodi imo is unsuitable if the child is shorter...i used a chicco key2-3 which was great when he was 15kilos but having read the which tests i bought the maxi cosi rodi as soon as he could fit in it. Also some have large wings on the side and depending your car it can be impossible almost to reach to buckle it-so do look first.

I second the advice on trying the child in the seat and the seat in the car if you can before buying

my youngest will need to to go up to that stage in a few months time, tried her in her sisters britax high back booster seat and on the lowest setting it fits her nicely height wise but could get nearly 2 of her in it width wise :w00t:

so when she outgrows her current seat i am thinking of getting the Jane indy plus as the width of both side wings and head wings are adjustable and i'd quite like another isofix seat for her anyway but we plan to try and find the seat in the flesh and also try a couple of others so we know which seat is the best fit for her and car :-D
