Best or Worst Restaurant you ever dined at?

What eatery brings back a warm or cold tingle to your taste bud memories.

My favourite is the OUTBACK Pub & Restaurant by the river in Staines, Middlesex.
The hospitality and food is excellent every time I visit with the family. I live in Warwickshire now but I would still travel 100 miles to eat there on a special occasion.

Check out their website for the latest deal or voucher: http://www.outback.com

The worst was the PORRIDGE POT pub & restaurant by the Holiday Inn Express on J15 off the M40, the staff haven't got a clue, you don't get shown to your table, they don't tell you that you have to order from the bar and then the food is dismal - this is when the place is quiet which is probably most of the time from what I experienced. We stayed at the hotel next door and wanted to eat at 9 pm after unpacking. Porridge Pot staff said they weren't taking any more orders after nine about which I need to say no more....

I think the worst might be China Grill in Ilford - food was microwaved in front of you and absolutely yuk.

Worst - Wing Wah in Coventry (A45) Just appaling service, food, cleanliness.

Best - Roof Top Gardens Kensington OR Mallory Court in Warwickshire. Both were simply divine !!

My best was the £109 per head dinner jacket restaurant within the Grand Floridian Hotel in Disney. Went there for my honeymoon, great.

My worst must be McD's, but the kids love it :-D

A regular place i liekd to go was a place called Buddies in northampton, i went a bit too much at uni though so i'm going to wait a while before i go again

Too many nice restaurants in east london and also loads in edgeware. Id get pretty bored if i went to same one every time.

We have an annual chip shop crawl at our youth club when we get the kids into 3 or more groups and walk them around the town to each chippie. The leader buys one portion of chips from which the kids sample and mark out of ten for crispness, taste, quantity, colour, etc.

We give the chip shop with the most marks a certificate and trophy which they are happy to display.

If you lead or assist in a Youth club, it's a great activity on an autumn night.

My fav restaurants in Newcastle are and Italian called Metzzo on Osborne road in Jesmond, great food, great staff, big porstions. And a greek restaurant at the top of big market, Simply Greek, great food, great staff.

Worst restaurant I went to was one in south shilds I think, that you had to get a lift down to because it was built into a cliff. Staff were ignorant, all about 15 year old, just stood around chattin, food was ****, expensive, would never go again.

Best for me has to be the Aakash indian restaurant in sunny Cleckheaton, West Yorks.

Apparently the larges Indian restaurant in the world. Food is deeee-lish.

Can't think of worst one, possibly any little thief (chef) if you can class them as restaurants

Best - quite a few but the most recent was the Magpie (Whitby). The worst was one on the harbourside in Madeira.

I love China Grill :-(

My fave restaurant ever )except Pizza Hut :giggle:) would be El Souk by Leicester Square in London - I had a tagine with chicken, lamb and sausage - yummy and different

Can't remember a food place where I didn't finish my dinner! But probably one of the manky chicken shops in East London would be my worst

Best Indian restaurant in the UK used to be Monty's in Ealing, West London until the boss's son took over and ruinned it big time, got shut down as a major health hazard. The boss now has a smaller version of it in Ealing on the Broadway where the food & service is bang up to spec.

My favourite Italian place is the CASA VALLE in Leamington Spa - they have a "happy hour" when you can have a starter, main course with a glass of wine and a coffee for £10.00 - However their speciality is the Italian language classes upstairs for the kids, excellent if you're going on holiday to Italy.

You love China Grill?! Sorry to say but your standards mustn't be very high. This place is supposed to serve Chinese and Indo-Chinese and nothing tasted authentic or fresh - like I said, I could see into the kitchen and saw them microwaving my dishes. I ordered and within 3 minutes my noodles were out... you know there's something wrong then! I've been to many many tastier places that serve similar food and they compare price-wise as well.

Well, to each their own!

I have to agree with you though, Pizza Hut IS the best :) Never gets boring... mmm, craving it now!

Quick question to Mrs.Z, do you happen to know if El Souk is a halal restaurant? Did a quick search on google but couldn't find it. Thanks!

A long time ago I went to l'Auberge du Pont de Collonges, near Lyon.

Paul Bocuse (who I was introduced to) is considered one of the greatest living cooks. It was an extraordinary evening. I have never been to any other restaurant like it

Yes it is Halal - go for it!
And by the way my standards are high, that's why I don't eat Fillet O' fish burgers :p

OH had duck tagine with apple or something and loved it so try it if you are into that kinda thing (I am far too English for all that!)
