Got toothache, very grumpy.

Taking Solpadeine, Paramol...

Anything better out there?

Or even cheaper variants of the above that still do the same job?

Cheers!

Clove oil.

ibuprofen and paracetamol are ok to take together, so 2 of each and some clove oil is the best you can probably do till you can see a dentist.

best thing for a tooth ache is orajel dental gel it numbs the tooth like when you have been dentist you buy it in chemist about £4.00 its only a little tube but its really good

Does chewing cloves work?

Reason I ask is, I thought 'twas only clove oil (which I have none), but I do have some dried cloves....

I kinda "self prescribed" some amoxycillin, 2x250mg 3 times a day. Hoping that clears it up. No harm in doubling up with some salty water too :)

I went for 2 years with an absyss a few years ago, hate going to the dentist, i would religiously take between 6-8 Nurofen + every day for it, (this isnt very nice) it eventually would come to a head on my gum that would pop occasionally (told you it wasnt very nice), i was walking to work one day when i had a terrible pain in my stomach, i had to run to work to go to the loo and was passing blood, had to go to hospital and have a tube both ends, doc told me it was a burst blood vessell in my stomach that was caused by the nurofen thinning my blood and waekening my blood vessels, cant take them now at all,

I ended up in hospital due to the absyss, also had to have my tooth removed as i went so long that it destroyed the root of my back tooth and couldnt be saved, and had to be probed by a doctor (which isnt very pleasant:oops:

So theres a moral in there:)

Dont put it off, go to the dentist!!!! i wish i had,

2 YEARS?!!!??

I'm shocked, and a little bit in awe!

I read somewhere archaeologists had found a body of someone who had died a long time ago - from an tooth abscess! That really freaked me out. :-D

yeah I had one and it moved into my jaw and i got an abscess in my neck. I couldn't eat or sleep and had trouble breathing the pain was soo bad never experienced anything like it. I started getting addicted to codeine based painkillers.......

that's when i realized i should really face my fear before i died of blood poisoning

had to have an operation to clean out my jaw bone and under my face and had a tooth removed, best thing i ever did. please don't let it get worse, trust me its just not worth it.

still hate dentists though lol

-edit
yes you can chew on cloves with same effect as using clove oil

When you are 25 a healthy diet of beer & nurofen plus can numb the stongest of pain, (and an obsessive fear of the dentist)

Couldnt do it now!!

Ask your pharmacist for cocodamol 500/8. Generic version of the paracetamol/codeine but a fifth of the branded price.
#24
Solphadol (Co-codomol) only get it from a pharmasist tho. But its still over the counter.

2 of em Knock me out.
