Anyone know the best (and by best, I probably mean cheapest :P) place to get one is? Unfortunately no Tesco Opticians near me or would go for a free one there. Any other places do free ones or have offers on?

Thanks :)

Hiya

Do you work? Many employers offer free eye test vouchers, or will refund the costs...

Might be worth asking!!

Cheers

Anywhere that is offering a discount eye test, look up their websites some of them offer vouchers on their websites.

Go to a qualified health care practitioner usually trading under the title of an "Optician".

Go to the budget/discount dispensing agent to buy the frames & lenses once you have your prescription if you must, but get your eyes checked by a professional.

"Should have gone to Specsavers", etc.

Any qualified opticians is the obvious answer.
However they are not able to detect all problems. If you are checked out and the headaches continue you may want to consider an eye hospital where they can do more detailed checks. Try the optician first though.

Half price eye test at D&A, works out at £13.75.

(Qualified) Optician practices will write a note for you to hand to your General Practioner for a referral to an eye hospital if it is warranted.

Agree totally that the optician must be first resort. However I can testify that sometimes they do not pick up everything.
Go to an optician, but if symptoms do persist trust your own judgement and seek further advice even if an optician has not identified a cause.

Thanks all, will probably go to D&A with the half price voucher.
Really hope they find I do need to wear them again (I wore them from an early age but was told I no longer needed them about 10 years ago) as I'd rather that than have to start faffing about with going to the doctors/hospital!
