I'd defo fly with Virgin and I'd recommend staying at the Venetian, even the basic rooms are like small suites.

Me & Hubby last stayed at circus circus, we also stayed at the Excalibur and the Stratsophere.
Virgin is direct but can be exspensive. When we went 2yrs ago we booked our own flights U.K via
Amsterdam and Detroit and booked our hotel direct with the hotel (u only pay deposit for hotel the rest when u leave). We stayed there for 11days and it only cost £1200 for the two off us in the beginning off September..................

Most hotels are pretty good, u only sleep there anyway and u will find u will spend most off your time exploring all the other hotels.
If u like shopping theres a mall near the airport, catch the bus from the strip its cheaper than the shops on the strip......Enjoy been to Vegas 5 times.

Strat is at the far end of the strip by the old hotels, if you shop around you'll get a nicer hotel.

Was your quote for a package trip ?

that price was with e bookes , we where told no matter where you stay on the strip u can get a bus to most places with in 10 mins ?????? just over £1000 for flights and £128 for hotel, we plan to spend time in the top hotels most days rather than paying £600 for the mgm , wynn, ect

Its not that far about a mile we walked everywhere. Theres buses all the time and its cheap if u buy a 24hr ticket they go up and down the strip, all the way down town to fremont street(old vegas) and back up to the newer hotels, airport and shopping malls...........

Enjoy your trip......Vegas is a truly amazing place and just like you see on the telly. I can't wait to go back next year

Try pricing flights seperate and google the hotels direct its cheaper than a package.

Hi we going next week for 2 weeks and its costing £1400 for 2 of us staying at the Mardi Gras its off strip and its our 7th time here, the rooms are huge and you get tea/coffee facilities and a fridge, there is a courtesy shuttle bus to the strip but we usually walk it, we fly direct from manchester with thomas cook, we have also booked for June next year and thats 2 weeks priced at £1438 for 2 of us. Las Vegas is amazing and we only started going 3 years ago and it spoils you from going anywhere else. Enjoy!!!!

Wouldn't' stay at the Strat again - just that bit too far to walk, esp when exhausted from a day of seeing Vegas. Strat, Circus, Sahara and Excalibur are just not up to the same standard as the others, hence the price. We opted for Luxor as it was at the cheap end of the price scale, but close enough to walk everywhere (it's at far end of strip) Was also v convenient for airport as it's also at that end. Planet Hollywood would be a next cheaper option - v good location also. Tbh, it totally depends what you want to do. We walked up and down the Strip all day long. Bought shopping, carried shopping, saw shows, walked more.. etc. If that's gonna be your trip - go for a hotel on strip. If you are more likely to laze about pool, go out now and again - then it won't mean so much to you if you are further away from the action. We went both times for NY eve, so pool time was out. Vegas is amazing, but if you love to see everything then it is a tiring place. You'll think 'oh we'll just pop over to the next casino for dinner' and it will take 30 minutes to even get there. The casinos want to keep you in, so they don't make the exits very clear. Plus the sheer size of them makes them look closer than they are. Trust me, when you are exhausted and dying to lie down, the last thing you will want to do is find out where the bus goes from to catch it back to your hotel! The monorail helps, but it doesn't stop at all the casinos, and you will still end up walking to and fro. Let us know which one you went for!
