Don't use powders of any kind (they have bleach) and fade clothes, i use ariel liquid bubbles, bobbling solutions/prevention I too would like to hear :)

tbh i don't find my clothes fade/ bobble by washing i find its my drier that fades them. I don't put anything nice into the drier usually just towels and underwear. I find it totally zaps the coolour from and makes them look old and tatty.

I swear by excel Gel, its expensive but can usually find it on offer. Its the only laundry detergent I have found that actually gets everything clean. As for the bobbling try a cooler setting.

I use persil colour (liquid) and always turn the stuff inside out when washing.

same here, put everything else on the line or clothes horse in winter weather.

I also only use harsher cycles for the towls etc .. everyday/nice clothes don't need battering around in the washer.

My sister ruins loads of clothes just by washing/drying .. oddly enough

Bobbling ( if not caused by wear, like with some woolen garments) is due to using the wrong washing cycle.

Non-bios or delicate fabric products will weaken your garments less and reduce dye leakage, so keep colours better. IMO there's not much to choose between any of them.

I always use Persil Non-Bio, always gets them clean, some bobbling, but i think that is more down to the clothes, i don't spend a lot on therm. Don't have a drier, never use one, always hang my clothes on a clothes dryer/maiden, whatever they're called.

I was bored recently and Watchdog was on TV and they had a 10 minute thing about the best washing products and Ariel powder came up at number one, for cleaning and care, I think the test was done with Which? the product testing people.

We use those wash ball things that cost nigh on nothing and do something like 100 washes. I had my doubts when the missus bought them but they do actually work.
