Any recommendations on cheap prices for PC pieces?

I am looking to buy a Motherboard, CPU and possibly some RAM to get a replacement gfx card to work (I am AGP and this upgrade is PCI-E)

Anyway the question is where's a good/cheap place to buy and who offers good quidco/discounts/vouchers?

Cheers! :-D

Have you tried aria?
They are having a rush hour sale tomorrow, I'll be posting details on the 'hot deals' forum tomorrow.

eBuyer is also good :) PCNextDay and Komplett are another couple. MicroDirect I think has cashback through QuidCo too...

You might find it best to buy most of the bits and pieces you require in one go, so the postage costs are lower. Weigh up delivery costs against direct product savings and cashback as well...

I recently bought a big upgrade.

I got a good graphics card from overclockers.co.uk as they had a special deal on (£50 cheaper than any competitors) and a psu as they had a good £45 ATX2.2 psu, a lot cheaper than any other site. Delivery isnt too bad.

However I then needed RAM, a Mobo, and a Processor with a Heatsink and fan. I found the exact sorts I needed and turned out the good old Ebuyer wasn't actually nearly as competitive as Dabs! It used to be the other way around, but would appear not these days!

So, Ebuyer.co.uk used to be great, possibly still are depending on what you are after, and dabs.co.uk seemed better for my needs (although postage is a little pricey, but was a free postage weekend when I bought my bits).

I tend to use ebuyer as I've had good service from them over the years..particularly when something fails under warranty..I have always had a replacement or a refund of the price I paid.

I have also used www.cclonline.com recently and found their prices competetive and the service excellent.

just to say i hope things have improved with overclockers.paid next day delivery had no conformation email and goods arrived 14 days later unnanounced.my recent dealings with eclipse have been the worse online.

best to stick with micro direct ebuyer and dabs.they are always honest with stock levels and have order tracking.

bigpockets sometimes have good deals aswell.

unfortunately ram is probably at its highest price i have seen for many years at the moment.

Also Scan's Today Only (www.scan.co.uk/todayonly) offers are pretty good most of the time, while the postage is a bit steep, it can be good if what you want is all relatively cheap.

Thanks for replies guys!

As for overclockers I'll probably not buy from them again after the fiasco I had with the graphics card i purchased from them, although now I have got a really nice PCI-E card as a replacement and a good will gesture, the hassle invovled to get it was a real pain (specially their staff, they can't give an answer for anything)

I'll have a look around some of the suggestions, I used to buy from ebuyer but prices seem to have gone up and RAM has always been expensive in my book. Was looking last night at 2x 1GB sticks and was looking for £200+!

I ordered a supposedly in stock motherboard a month ago from eclipse. I was then told it would not be in stock for 2-3 days (I can live with that I thought). After more than a fortnight, I got fed up and asked them to send an alternative (which is supposedly in stock). I'm still waiting . . . . . .
