Adverts are great arent they, as my dad used to say and everyone else's prob too says, " best thing on TV is the adverts" but............

with pleasure always comes pain, and some adverts do really annoy me....

The Tena Lights advert where the mature woman is wearing the same dress as another woman, so totally turns bitch and with her mates, still i feel better knowing she must smell of urine...

And what the hell is Go Chicken Fat?

But my all time hate so much i could kill, was the Halifax Advert,

ISA ISA baby one....

whats your fav or worst

I don't like those biscuit adverts with the animals I see no connection, if that little goblin thing crawled out of my box of jaffa cakes I'd hit it with a shoe, and why do I want a packet of kittens? They are not even cooked and peeled plus I hear cat meat is disgusting. Why do I want an owl pooing on my head etc, Stupid adverts.

I also hate all adverts aimed at women that equate food with orgasms, its normally something like a pudding or an ice cream, I find those adverts extremely sexist you never see beer adverts showing a man creaming himself after one sip, grow up advertising companies we are just sex and baby minding machines to you and thats just plain insulting.

Have you noticed the trend lately of showing 'old' adverts but they have a slight change to them? There's been a whole raft of them lately. I'm guessing it's some new marketing gimmick pushed by the backroom brightest as a way of subliminally getting us thinking more about products etc.

I don't mind though - at least I get to see that gorgeous welsh girl in the bikini talking about 'Secret Escapes' again...

I know what you mean. Getting a wee bit tired of seeing Nicole 'Shirtslinger' moaning and screaming. Has she ever done an advert where she ISN'T having one of those womens moments?? Hehe. If it's not yoghurt it's ruddy shampoo. I've used Head & Shoulders for years but it's never had that effect on me. Maybe time for a change?

I don't mind adverts in general but what really gets my goat especially on 4OD is the same damn advert ( this one ) every single break and I mean every single break

It's like watching Dave (TV) where almost every single program is a repeat or there's another TV channel (that my father has on when I visit) it plays Last of the Summer Wine and then repeats the same episode about 3hrs later wtf!

I record everything I want to watch on the channels that show adverts then play it back but fast forward through the adverts. This way a scheduled 1 hour programme can normally be watched in just 45 minutes.

You obviously do not use Hulu, where your forced to watch absolutely terrible american adverts every 4 minutes..

I try to make a mental note and avoid products sold that way, it seems they have forgotten how it works, when they say sex sells that are referring to things like the diet coke advert, they wanted to sell to women so included a half naked bloke that is how it works. You inclued shining examples of the opposite sex of the target consumer, so unless that yogurt is aimed squarely at lesbians its just a complete insult to the viewers intelligence.

Perhaps they should merge the two and have some women getting off of grinding some owls and screaming kittens into her scalp that'll be memorable.

I could spam this thread with sooooo many links to the best ads. The Harp 'sharp exit' ads were mostly classics, with the dog jumping out of the window, or the Lionel Blair cut. That milk ad with a young Carl Rice making out that if he drinks milk he will be the next Ian Rush has to be the most annoying ever, even though I was born and bred in Liverpool.

I like the adverts for games consoles; everyone is always so happy.
But for once I'd like a realistic advert. I propose an advert containing an overweight man hurling a controller at the wall and calling the game a cheating ******

Whether your view is positive or negative, you're talking about the ad, and getting us thinking about the product. Job done.

I never see many ads, as I record everything, then skip them all. However, I do find it really annoying that we've now copied the American system where everything under the sun has to be sponsored by somebody or other.

whats the product? I try take note but most of the time I don't know, they all merge into one, I just know its mainly yogurts and ice creams. Don't ask me what the biscuit pack is that contains kittens or was it puppies? Or was there 2 advets? Don't know what the owls on heads was advertising, only one I remember for sure was the jaffa cakes so they didn't do that good a job as I know is it was biscuits but thats about it.

I like the spec saver adverts

??? I'm not an overweight man and I most certainly dont hurl controllers at walls and swear those things are expensive. I used to work as a games tester that kind of behaviour would have got you sacked and very few of the staff were overweight. They were hipsters, gangsta's, emos, metal heads, punks, avarage joes etc basically they were just people from all walks of life who liked to play games as a hobby rather thenhwatch tv

Sometimes i get annoyed at games, but never to the extreme of damaging a £40.00 controller, a or my £1200.00 TV even! i think those who react like that have angry management issues in general.

I think its because he reminds me of someone I know, who is a bit of a door knob.

If it's an ITV programme you can also watch it on catch up and they automatically take the adverts out. Quite weird because you get the end screen before going to the ad break immediately followed by the return screen.

I agree Error440, the only advert I've unmuted or not skipped past is Specsavers.
