Hi lovies
I am thinking of asking my gf to get engaged on her bday...can i give her an engagement ring as present or i have to give her a separate gift on top of it as well? plz tell me how things work, i dont know its my first time :-)

Where can i find a reasonable and economical engagement ring?

What gifts would u recommend?

Dont do the engagement ring on birthday trick.

Make sure its a special place and time and means something to you both.

Are you going away at all?

Treat the day as you would any of her other birthdays (e.g. buy a card & a prezzie etc) - then in the evening surprise her with the ring:thumbsup:

Don't mention too many cities... The more you mention the more people we're insulting. lol

Why not do it on a different date. Her birthday only comes around once a year. If it was me I'd do it on another day so i could make an even bigger fuss all over again. I wouldn't let he hear you refering to her ring as Economical too. It's not a car although she will probably appreciate a full service from time to time!!

You ever been to Fleetwood?

Answer is pretty simple - Celebrate her birthday and then towards the end of the holiday (maybe the last night) pop the question after a nice meal and a stroll down the beach (if there is a beach to hand)! This will require 2 presents. Are you sure you can obtain the ring in time??

I got engaged on my 16th birthday...

I remember being incredibly displeased that all i had for my birthday presents were sexy underwear ( a suggestion from my "friends"! ) and a diamond ring.

I was spoilt I spose, young and stupid...

But you have been warned! She will want a gift as well as a ring lol

Don't get in debt just for a ring hon, you'll need your money for when you are married.

well dont wanna sound cheap but we have many rings available on littlewood between 150-200 and what matters to her is my feelings for her..which are pure...
and i am not worried about yes and No because we are already engaged on facebook..and she sent me that invitation...

both of us are thinking on the same note.. so i am not worried about here reaction..i just want to make her as happy as i can :)

£200 is a lot of money, she'll love it hon... but I'd save up first if I were you, you don't want to give her a ring that isn't even paid for yet!

not sure about the engaged on facebook thing, I'm too grouchy to believe in that but if it works for you then that's great!! :)
