Birthdays -Things to do.

Got my birthday coming up and was trying to think of something to do. Almost every year is pubs/clubs and that happens at weekends anyway - it's getting a bit repetitive!

Has anyone here had, or been to, any birthdays that they thought were fun or a bit different? Or does anyone have any ideas in general of what they think would be a laugh or that they might be thinking of doing themselves next b'day?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Do ya like playing poker? How about a night out at the casino playing a game?

I do like poker actually, but unfortunately the casino often crops up in a weekend out anyway. Thinking outside of the box though, i like your style.

This thread can act as a brainstorming exercise so i'll leave a price limit out just to see what crops up! Things like trips abroad would be a no though, because of work.

For my hubby's birthday a couple of yrs ago I paid for him and his buddies to go on Go Ape (climbing about, being alpha-males in trees..) Then a booze cruise on Lake Windermere... don't know where you are though so not sure if that's any use.

My OH and his mates went Karting for a 40th Birthday. They all loved it, gave them the opportunity to be little boys again and they all got very competitive.

Was talked about for weeks!

I'm all the way down in Devon, so there's not a lot of big attractions around! Karting is sounding quite appealing. The rally/driving days out also look cool, but quite expensive if many people were to go.

Have you tried Sphering? Is that what it's called? Rolling down a hill in a big ball. Though I think the experience would be over in a couple of hours - you might have to team it up with another activity.

We did some pubbing one year and in the afternoon got taxis to a carting track.

We had a brill time.
