I ordered the Fresco Bloom Highchair from John Lewis, it retails around £270 bit was advertised for £100. I bought it and got the email confirming i'd bought the fresco bloom. However, when it was delivered, i had actually recieved the Nano Bloom. which retails £100 and is nasty. John Lewis have said that they can either take it back and refund me the £100 or i can keep the nano for £75.

I want the fresco Bloom for the £100 i payed. doi have anything over them or not really, can they say no after confirming and delivering the wrong product. They do have the item in stock but at a higher price.

Thing is i posted this deal on HUKD and everyone else has had the same problem. I have called them and they said leave it with them, but also was mailing them and last night i got a reply (from a woman in samples sales??) saying the first offer was the final offer. I have been told i can use the nano...but its designed for kids 6months plus and my 3 month old is all wobbly and unstable in the nano. I mentioned that in the email, that i'd specifically ordered the bloom as it was better for babies.

I am going to call them today but just wanted some tips/advice on where i do really stand. is it pointless.

What does it say on the receipt?

If they have taken money for product (a) but supplied product (b) they are obligated to change it for which the original contract stipulated.

That's such a shame, I know how much you wanted the Fresco Bloom.
I am surprised with John Lewis as they are usually very good with the customer services side of things.
If your receipt says Fresco Bloom, stand your ground and so long as they have stock of it say you want what you paid for and not a cheaper and inferior substitute.

But the receipt they sent with the wrong highchairs states the highchair you actually want (just to confirm)? Pop down to CAB like I said, the are really helpful and companies tend to take you much more seriously once you get them involved - they may write a letter on your behalf or something :)

ok i rang Trading Standards and have been advise to write to them with the reciept and send it recorded delivery telling them they are in breech of contract and they got 7 days by when to send me the correct highchair. if not then i have to call them again.

seriously, u wouldnt think John Lewis would do this would u.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things and it's about time JL sorted it out for you.
I just had a look and they do have stock of the Fresco and I was surprised how ugly the nano is!!
I hope they honour the order and you get the Fresco - it's awsome.

Edit: And thanks for the rep, I now get 5 degrees of heat on deals instead of 4 :)

Hubbys can come in handy sometimes!
I was surprised how ugly the nano was, not surprising they want rid of them!
