Amazon one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vax-VZL-7071P-Cylinder-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B001DDWZWO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1238317300&sr=1-1

Argos one - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4057561/Trail/searchtext%3EVAX.htm

I dont have wood floors and my place quite small, although have tiles in kitchen and bathroom - just need something that can do the job! Thanks

Well, if your single then you'd want something strong enough to suck a golf ball through a garden hose...

anything over 2000w should suffice... or get married....then she can do it for you....the vacuming that is :w00t:

Splurge out on an iRobot and let it do it for you. They are brilliant as long as you don't have deep-pile rugs. Turn it on, leave the room (or two rooms), come back and the place has been done! Cleans really well too - we love ours.

If you can stretch your budget I'd go for a Henry, will last years and never lose suction..

http://www.bisselldirect.co.uk/product/1026 get one iof these its a cylinder and upright in one, best buy we ever made! RE-conditioned but comes with 12 month waranty and looked new with all new filters in it too, our filters lasted 18 months before needing replacement and they are £9 a set from ebay.
