You will be charged heavily for this. You will need the unlimited abroad bolt on.

If you've not paid for roaming abroad, you should turn off data roaming so no emails or pins.

Options
Mobile Network
Data Services - change on to off when roaming

It means no emails and no pins

If that's not in place and you leave data roaming on, you will be billed for each request by your phone to check if emails are on server. Lots of dosh!!

That's on the vodaphone network but I reckon it will be standard. Can you call O2 and check?

if you have done that, i assume the blackberry messenger will be charged

They will charge you for taking your BB out of your pocket to look at it!

On another note - took mine to India & they did allow me to use my Texts at the rate of 4-1. Ie - for every i text I sent - it cost me 4 from my bundle!

I've not used BB Messenger before but just checked with our provider and yes it's still chargeable as it is using data (not a great deal of it) but chargeable none the less same as Pin's. So if you don't purchase the passport bolt on, I'd turn off the data roaming feature pronto.

Just seen the price you've been quoted for the bolt on. Guess it's different for private use, business bolt on was £8 but if you pin a lot or like to keep in touch via emails etc then perhaps it's not too steep...
