Blackberry contract... need help!

I had my phone stolen over the weekend which means I now need a new one. I'm thinking of getting a Blackberry Pearl, but i'm already have a contract from my old phone and still have about 16 mths left on it. So my mum said she'd take out a new contract in her name, so that I could get the Blackberry. My question is, would the Blackberry work on my own existing contract as i've seen somewhere something about 'BlackBerry Mail Booster', is it necessary?

Also the contract my mum would be taking out is on Orange from Carphone warehouse, so would phone be unlocked? As i'm on t-mobile!

Thanks in advance for any help :)

My understanding is that the pearl should work as a normal phone. However if you want to use the internet, BBM or receive emails then you should need the blackberry internet package (many different names are used for this). I'm sure your current provider would change your tariff to accommodate your new blackberry.

All BB only services work through RIM (Blackberry), things like BBM and their own push email. You need to have the BB addon (bis) put on your acc so these service can run through it. It would be cheaper to just have this added to your current acc, it's only a max of £5 a month. . .

Ok great thanks for both replies! I will check with t-mobile if they can add on the blackberry internet package!
