latest version for your phone is version 5

if your not too tecki, then you still have a warranty on the phone, just take it back or phone up telco

not at all techy, but i have read now that there is a fault behind the screen that causes this so gonna have to fight with e2save about it, as its a build problem with a short in the phone.
its only about 5mths old so they should hopefully sort it out. its not an insurance issue i hope as i dont think i have insurance on it. its a phone malfunction.

must be others have had this problem, maybe someone can give me a hint.
can see it shorting orange now a bit

darn problem as i really need a phone, as i am a carer, and cant afford to buy one again.

typical bad luck.

you've done the battery pull yea ?, only leaves a software fault (very easy to upgrade your software) the lcd has maybe gone (slim but still a chance) a faulty battery with a slightly lose connection causes this problem (ive repaired 2/3 mates/family handsets with the same problem)

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black or white screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.

1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):

"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.

Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

my mate had a blank white screen after he dropped his phone and im pretty sure due to the way the screen is connected it can pretty easilly come lose its like a clicky flap... he got a replacement through O2 but you can fiddle and replace them yourself if you are seeing no display
