A family member was out on Christmas eve and went to flush the toilet which snapped and caused a deep cut in their hand. It caused hassle over the xmas period obviously, and went to hospital on boxing day refusing to let it spoil xmas day. the hospital just bandaged it up as it had already begun to heal but it caused them to have a week off work because they could not use their hand and a scar is still clearly present today.
The pub it happened in was very unsympathetic assuming they had been fighting until they saw the amount of blood and the sharp flush handle, at this point they were much more sympathetic
The family member is wondering whether to take any action about this now, there was also obvious damage to clothes and bedding as their was a lot of blood, a photo was taken at the time on a phonee of the hand, but not of the flush
any advice from anyone with experience or in the know is greatly appreciated
