Ok so sold a car on Ebay. The winning bidder is brand new user, no feedback, and the address he gave me is an estate agents in London. (I understand all this could be genuine) BUT something doesn't feel right.
What are my options? Ideally i would love to sell to the second chance offer, who can collect and pay straight away and lives local. Any advice please.

Sell to the 2nd chance?
Can't you limit who bids?

Has the winner been in contact?

The listing ended about an hour ago, he was bidding right at the end second, so i messaged him straight away and he ain't replied as of yet.

A new ebayer won a motorcycle I was selling (registered in poland) I thought it was very dodgy and had no contact that evening. Any how next evening contacted me and picked up the following evening. Was as good as gold. I was on the verge of giving to 2nd chance bidder.

Be patient they might not be able to answer straight away.

Yes i will do this then, i don't want to miff genuine people off, just being honest saying its seems fishy thats all.

it is so annoying, they can somehow manage to bid at the last second, but cant respond to a message
When i was selling some seasonably expensive bits, i manually kept kicking off any dodgy bidders, but you always get one sneeks in the last second
#14
Soooo i'll give him 24hrs. If no payment, contact, collection by then what happens next?

sniper bid maybe?

probably, but you think people with zero or very low feedback wouldnt do all that last second, sniper bidding (I never have, i might manually bid close to end, never used a sniper service)

Either way, shame you cant ban low feedback bidders, but ebay doesnt want people to (i know you can ban those with below zero, but not the control i want)

It's called sniping, really handy if you know you won't be around, or in bed, or incase you miss something you have your eye on. May not be a new person, you can have more than 1 ebay account, it's common.

An "snipe" means they may well bid at the last secong via a proxy but can't reply until the next day, it's very common, not a sole sign of a scammer or crap buyer.

Ok so no contact, no payment no replies to emails. What now?

You'd think if they had bid to win a car, they would be fairly swift in sorting out getting hold of it...

I don't get buyers sometimes. When I win, I want it now, so pay to get it.

Sell it to the 2nd person.
If the person who won it gets in contact, say it got stolen.

+1 Seems a bit suspect that they haven't been in touch. Send them a message saying as you haven't heard from them by such and such a time you will be selling to another buyer who is waiting elsewhere. If they really want it they'll be in touch. If they don't get in touch you may have to let ebay know about the transaction being cancelled as they'll probably charge you a small fortune in the selling fees as well I would imagine?

Also for future use on anything you're selling put in your description at the bottom of the item that bidders with less than 10 to contact you before bidding. I've seen that a lot. At least if they contact you before they bid you have some details about them. Hope you get it sorted soon

That NEVER works, ever if someone is out to waste time do you think they care what your listing says? You can cancel their bids sure, won't stop a snipe.

Open a NPB dispute on day four and SCO it to the local guy.

Do i have to wait till day 4? I really want it sorting whilst hubs is still here.
If i sell to the SCO now how do i prevent him starting a paypal dispute thing?

Yeah day 4 for a NPB dispute, tbh if I were you I would just give a SCO and be done with it. He can't do a paypal dispute as he hasn't paid for it, he could report you as a non-performing seller, if you sell it before tying the issue up, but I wouldn't worry tbh, if you need it gone, you need it gone. Chances are if a timewaster/bid shielder he won't contact you again.
