You need to use a Visa Electron card to avoid charges - like with Ryanair.

As I say - done with no notice and no communication.

Very poor move on bmibaby and their tied-in bank!

I'm assuming this may be the Citibank card? - http://www.bmibaby.com/bmibaby/en/cbHome.aspx

Is this a £15 charge, every time you book a flight with BMIbaby, using their own cardit card, rather than every time you use this card to make a purchase elsewhere btw?

keep voting cold

(I'm sure a mod will move it soon to misc. if they see fit).

if they change their terms & conditions, they are legally obliged to inform you

That's the one. I'm going to dump my card - the service is appalling, the free flight is unusable (they restrict availability on free places even if there are spare places on the plane) and now they are charging £15 per booking to use it.

Flew with easyjet last week - could not believe the difference. bmibaby have scruffy staff who couldn't give a stuff , moderately clean airplanes and they change their timetables.

I suppose the credit card hasn't changed anything - it's their affiliate, bmibaby who have stopped doing us the "favour" of not charging for its use.

As stated in previous thread Ryanair also charge for booking online unless you use visa electron, which is why alot of people use the post office travel money card in the sterlin version as there is only a 1.5% charge on transactions when you put the money one in the post office.
This way you could save alot of money as per £1,000 there is only a £15.00 charge, Thats alot of flights compared to £15.00 per booking.

The charge is made by bmibaby, not the card people, so doing it your way wouldn't you incur charges from both?

I booked 3 lots of flights in Jan and Feb and paided using my electron card and was charged £5 booking fee per person. Have they changed this now?

I know that Ryanair charge for using all card including switch, visa etc, but if you use the post office visa elecron they dont charge and its free, As i put another man only yesterday another £1,00 on his card and he paid the one off fee of £15.00 (1.5%) and he can use it to buy as many flights as he wants with no charge. You need to find out if BMIBABY dont charge if using visa electron, then you will be better off doing it this way...

Can anyone confirm that bmibaby have previously advertised that no surcharges would be applied if you booked flights with this credit card? Sounds like the sort of thing we'd be keen to cover on Bitterwallet if so.

As for the £15 surcharge - is that an across-the-board charge or per person or per-flight? How do they break it down (if they do?)
