Usually good with these but my memories going!. My boiler won't fire for hot water but does for heating, which in turn gives some hot water. I have a pressurised cylinder and the boiler is not a combi but a normal boiler. pcb?

Sounds like the thermostat on the tank is either faulty or has been adjusted,

no idea but these guys help me out loads when I have boiler problems

or the motorized valve could be stuck in the heating position.
Select hot water and heating and make sure the room thermostat is set at max, then get someone to turn the thermostat to min. and you should hear the valve operate.

we had a simlar problem - turned out that when it was serviced and a power flush done it pushed through all the dirt that was sitting in the bottom of the pipes and then it got clogged in the valve that switches between the hot water and heating.

Nothing wrong with your boiler, it's either motorized valve or controls issue
