Hello again,

Im looking into booking a courier to pick up a parcel.. but ive never done it before.

Ive looked on parcel monkey website and its given me a pretty good price so how do i go about it? is it really as simple as booking it online and they'll pick it up the following day?

just check reviews for who you go with, cheaper isn't always best
I usually use http://www.pharosparcel.com/ who aren't the cheapest (but not bad) and not had a problem with them.
Booked a collection on Tuesday with them at around 10.30am, was collected at 12.15, and delivered next day around 9am

If the item is large you should measure and get exact dimensions as if it is above the max dimensions they might refuse to take it and still charge you.
If it is small then estimated will be fine.

I can recommend myhermes, parcel2go and payperparcel.

Look at interparcel, I looked for someone else on here the other day and they had up to 40kgs for £10.99 + VAT which seemed really good for the weight.

Parcelmonkey are not that bad...just make sure you print of the label and get it signed by whoever collects it! I sent my Nintendo Wii with them..

jmcderm....someone else was asking about a bike the other day...is it put in one of those bike boxes? if so then there are companies who can help...I sent alloy wheels am sure they would do bikes..

I have used parcel2go 40+ times with no problems at all. They used DHL or myhermes and when using DHL 48 (48 hours) the package got there in 24 hours 90% of the time.

Years ago I used them 5 times,. had 5 problems, and am still waiting for any form of compensation from them. Customer service is pathetic. I didn't put anything about them when I first posted in case they had improved but looking at the reviews they seem the same.

Always use parcel2go, cheap and easy to use, print out the labels and DHL come to the house whenever you ask them to!

Have you ever had the misfortune to have to claim for a lost parcel or anything?
