I'm stuck on a black screen, vista has installed. On the screen it says to boot either into vista or windows nt/2000/xp then says enter command line.
Problem is it don't mention my mac? Where's it gone? And no keys are responding.
Having a panic here, how can I re start it all over again or get off this :-(

reinstall with your macosx cd.

i don't see the point in using bootcamp.

you buy the mac FOR the OS basically.

Why people would want to put an OS that is cheaper on every other laptop with a better spec bemuses me.

It is good.

Just because you went a little wrong doesn't make it not good :P

Resinstall OSX and try again....

also make sure you update bootcamp before you install it - I think there was an issue for a while with Vista?

hold down the Option key while the system is booting, and it'll give you a list of all bootable operating systems found on the computer:

If you was here I'd kiss you for that!!

So I'm back on mac, how can I get rid of what I've done to start again?

This. Once the new OS has installed properly it should give you the option of either the Mac OSX or Windows, but either way it should hopefully give you the option of booting up the Mac OSX from there. If it does, go to your System Preferences in Mac OSX and ensure that the computer boots up Mac OSX by default, which should stop you getting stuck in Vista again until you can rectify the problem.

Yeah leave the Mac one alone. If there is no other partition there I can only assume that Bootcamp failed totally, though that would be unusual and shouldn't really happen. When you re started the machine and held down the Option key, was the Mac OSX the only option that appeared?

Is the Mac disc the only one appearing anywhere in Bootcamp? If so go to Utilities under Applications and select Disk Utilities. If your partition for Windows appears there you can sort it out with that programme. Does the partition appear on your Mac OSX desktop?

Don't worry it's now removed and I'm trying again with it. How do I update bootcamp like what was suggested for using vista?

Click the Apple symbol in the very top left hand corner of your desktop. You can check for updates through that menu.

Right tried doing it all again, and same thing as originally stated keeps happening! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I'm following manuals, but I get to the same bit and it freezes! Please help

Its easier to run windows inside a virtual window using vmware or similar. i always find bootcamp a pain to get windows drivers to install (if using 64bit version).
