After all the problems people have had with savastore and other companies that have existed under this umbrella, i think you should all stay away and stop posting their offers as they are dangerous to give your money to. Please vote all their deals cold and stay away :) Mods please remove all Saverstore offers. Thanks if you listen :)

In the words of Sir Allan Sugar, "If its too good to be true, it probably is!"

I think the cold voters have awaken from their cold dark pit, since all the posts are getting cold votes!!

I've never shopped with them, what problems are these?

I guess we all have problems now and again with shops - I had nothing but trouble from Studio when I tried to order a £7.99 towel bale. 1 month later, no towel bale but a threatening letter for non payment of my £35 bill!! Took another month to prove my innocence and clear my name off their systems.

Similarly Kitbag took my order and money and never delivered. Courier company they use said they'd recalled my order. Kitbag said it had been delivered! Never saw a refund!

Is there a list of savastore affiliated company's knocking about. That way we'll know who to avoid..
#4
can you give me some examples of problems you have had with this company... and perhaps this should be in 'comments and suggestions'

Moved here for further discussion.

I bought a dvd recorder from them, faulty but they didnt want to know - returned to the manufacturer, still nothing and that was before Christmas! No refund & no item! Has anyone had a good experience?

'Boycott' them by all means, if you are worried, but don't take the p*** out of a company that is obviously in some financial trouble, buy buying loads of penny items with free postage.

I despair. :-(

Why shouldn't people buy cheap things with free postage?
If they are offering them too cheap, thats up to them!
If they can't afford to sell them at those prices, they shouldn't.

I wouldn't take the risk buying from them anyway to be honest

If they are offering them at 59p with free postage, Thats their problem, They shouldn't advertise them for that price if they can't actually afford to.

Maybe the very cheap things are just a loss leader, I certainly had a look at what other things they sell because those were so cheap.

I think they must be listing all this cheap stuff as loss leaders, and trying to clear out the warhouses a bit. They obviously goofed up on their free delivery policy, as they didn't factor in the HUKDs effect - 1 LED light here, 1 USB fan there. I note they have now updated their delivery option to free over £25. Good on them.

I agree that people are perfectly within their rights to pick up a bargain, but considering this is a company trying to come out of severe financial difficulties, I personally think we could be a little more sensible in our shopping activities with them. If not, they will just be driven back into trouble and will disappear off the map again - and I can't see that would be in anyones best interests - either the store or its customers.

So you'd have though they'd have realised quickly free postage on an item worth 59p isn't going to work!

Well you'd have though they'd done a offer like "Spend over £25 and you can choose a free gift"

The item may cost 50p to the business but is actually worth more if the same customers keep coming back!

Some of their prices are very good but i think there going to have a difficult time coming back and shaking off the problems. People don't want to run the risk of spending £50+ and never getting an item and all the hassle of getting money back, They'd rather spend a fiver more and get it from somewhere else.

Some of their prices ARE good, and I think it would be a shame if this company failed to recover. They have always stocked a good range of products at very competitive prices. I have bought lots of items from them in the past without any problems - they have also replaced faulty items without any problem.

I think it is very shortsighted to target these free delivery penny deals if it is going to affect the recovery of this company. Taking a longer term view of the situation would seem to be more sensible, in my opinion, as allowing Saverstore the chance to recover will mean greater marketplace competition and lower prices for all over an extended period of time.

I understand what you are saying Dan but losing one internet shop isn't going to change any prices, Even over an extended period of time, New companies are coming and going all the time!, There are hundereds if not thousands of companies fighting over the best prices! (Which is why many fall out of the market).

I've never used savastore or saverstore but its seems like they pushed themselves out with all the negativity about going bust and buyers were having refunding problems etc.

Although I'm surprised if its all as bad as it sounds they haven't cut their losses before.
