I got an n96 as an upgrade today from O2. I connect the charger to it and a message comes up saying "not charging" and it refuses to charge. i put in the battery out of my old N95 and got the same message. Used a different charger and still wouldnt charge and finally put the N96 battery into my n95 and it charged fine. Have i got a screwed phone or am i missing a trick?/

sounds like the phone. i take it both batteries and chargers work on the n95?

yeah charger and battery both work in n95. I did an update to latest firmware when i got it tho but i cant imgine that would be the problem would it, i mean it all went through fine?

well im gonna return it to o2 tomorrow and see what happens. It will be completely dead and unrechargeable. Going to ring them first thing and kick off saying im without a phone and see if i can get one sent before this one gets back

You'll be lucky! Take it to the shop - they may be more helpful if you kick off and give you one from the shop. Jus tell em summat like ur goin on hol in next few days. Don't take no for an answer and they may swap it there and then for you!

Surely worth a go - at the end of the day they are both O2. You can upgrade in the shop if you bought online so.... who knows!

agreed, got rid of mine battery was lucky to last a day with any kind of decent use and too plasticy

would be ok if we could get dvbt like oz but we cant so

swapped mine for a sony x1 and i love it decent build quality easy to use blah blah

am sending this back today. Im hoping the fact its completely dead and wont charge or switch on will be OK. Am going to order the Samsung Pixon instead, and hope i fare better this time around!

sent this phone back and it was indeed faulty (and didnt get pulled up over the firmware upgrade either) so have now ordered a Samsung Tocco Ultra instead and hope i have better luck with this one!
