what about warming the glue up ? place newspaper over the top and warm iron ?

Wd40 is pretty good at removing sticky residue.

Probably best to get brand new oak flooring.

If it is real wood flooring and not plastic laminate it may be possible to sand it out if the chemicals fail.

wanted to avoid it we will see how it goes today after the new sticky stuff remover i bought!

yeah actually, the glue is coming up with the sticky stuff remover and we are using an eraser to get rid of the marks!
