BSkyB has axed Bravo and Channel One as part of a massive revamp of the broadcaster's channels.

Bravo, which is home to shows such as 'Spartacus: Blood And Sand' and 'Alex Reid: The Fight Of His Life', is being taken off air after 25 years, while the decision to close Channel One comes just weeks after it rebranded from Virgin1.

The broadcaster has axed the channels as part of a move to concentrate its efforts on the popular Living TV brand and gameshow channel Challenge TV.

so no more dog the bounty hunter and TNA then for sky viewers

No more "Danny dyer bums men"?

Odd I thought the point of Virgin One changing to Channel One was because sky paid virgin the rights to the virgin tv channels (Living, bravo, virgin one etc).

That branding and logo was so lazily bad, in retrospective, it was obvious they were just place holdering it while they decided to shutter the channel.

I think they bought the virgin channels mainly to get their hands on living and shut down some of the competition.

All the content they bought when sky bought those channels will be merged onto other channels like sky 1, 2 and 3 etc.

No more Chuck!

Hopefully it doesn't effect virgin media. I'm guessing any shows with a good rating will be brought over to one of the other sky channels. Which will lead to virgin media just removing the channels anyway.

It will as Sky own the channels and are going to shut them down.

Just found this for any TNA fans.

"TNA WRESTLING'S RESPONSE TO SKY TV'S ACQUISITION OF VIRGIN MEDIA TV CHANNELS

In response to reports of Sky TV's move to eliminate the Bravo cable network, TNA's home for "iMPACT!" in the United Kingdom, TNA officials issued the following statement on Wednesday:

"Following the acquisition of Virgin Media TV channels (now rebranded as The Living TV Group) by Sky, there has always been the possibility of fundamental changes to those channels, including Bravo. However, we remain confident in TNA's position due to the outstanding ratings enjoyed in 2010, and our long term contract with the Living TV Group," TNA Executive Vice President Andy Barton said."

Damn it no more chuck. And the new series of V was put on there. I hope they bring them both to a HD channel.

Most programs are going to have a contract with the group of channels not each channel. The shows you mentioned will easily get moved about to another of the livingTv channels.

Just about to move to an area that doesn't have virgin media, so we will be switching to sky, going to miss the chapmans, although the last series of the dog was dull.
