Brazil for a honeymoon destination

£0.00 @
Has anyone been to brazil? If so, what is it like and would it be a good destination for a honeymoon. What is there to do and see apart from the statue, amazon, iguassu falls etc .... ??

Iguassu falls is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been - made niagara look positively tame. Rio is OK but rife with crime - good to see, but wouldn't go back

Would suggest you don't try to do Rio, Iguassu, Amazon all on one trip - it's a massahusive country and you'll spend your entire honeymoon stuck in some piddly Brazilian jungle-hopper, landing at god-forsaken airports in between all your destination points

What sort of honeymoon are you looking for - sightseeing or relaxing?????

The best place to see Iguassu from is actually the Argentinian/Uruguay side of the river - incredibly uncommercialised - just like it should be.
Butterflies the size of dinner plates, toucans in the trees (and slithery things underfoot, so don't look down!!!)
There are wooden walkways over and in some cases behind the cateracts - you get absolutely drenched in places - and some of them don't look especially robust (don't think the HSE have found Argentina) which kind of adds to the whole experience
We stayed in the Cateratas hotel - but was SEVERAL years ago now so any recommendation would probably be invalid.
