Can anyone recommend a good breakdown company?

I've been with RAC for 5 years now & probably had to call them out 3 times in that period. When I joined in 2005 it cost £98 for joint cover for me & the mrs to drive any car. Have just had the renwal form through the post & It's now crept up to £184 which is £30 increase on last years alone. I'm getting annoyed & about to ring them to cancel so anyone recommend a decent alternative.

Cheers.

Any deal's available through your insurance or Bank ?

I took out Tescos breakdown cover (think it's through Green Flag). Their top package (inc. homestart, etc) is only £78 per year which I thought was a fantastic deal for that level of cover.

Yeah there is but it's only very basic cover, so by the time you add the extra's you want it works out just as expensive.

Update: What a result.

I just rung RAC to cancel. I was asked why I'm leaving & told them, because I could get the same level of cover for about £100 less elsewhere. I was put on hold for a minute & low & behold was given a new quote of £107 for exactly the same cover.

So in summary: Original renewal quote £184.50. Got on the phone to cancel & was given a new quote of £107.63 Chuffed.
