dont see why not....but if someone says not (would guess cos of the thickness) then why dont you just cut them into pieces? Pretty sure you can reheat chicken pieces (once apparently)

Of course - you can reheat anything but you must do it properly to avoid food poisoning

It's true that you could get food poisoning from eating reheated rice. But it's not actually the reheating that's the problem – it's the way the rice has been stored before reheating.

Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive. Then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will germinate into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won't get rid of these toxins.

So, the longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that bacteria, or the toxins they produce, could stop the rice being safe to eat.

It's best to serve rice when it has just been cooked. If that isn't possible, cool the rice as quickly as possible (ideally within one hour) and keep it in the fridge for no more than one day until reheating.

Remember that when you reheat any food, you should always check that it's steaming hot all the way through, and avoid reheating more than once.

Did a food & hygiene course yonks ago........

You can reheat chicken after it is cooked fine, but reheating more than once, the risk of samonella is increased

I believe its safe to reheat once yeah, after that both the safety of the food, and more than likely the taste quality will be dodgy - Just make sure its piping hot in the middle (cover it when you microwave so it doesnt turn into a prune)

OK thanks for that repped, it will normally be from a takeaway, so would be straight in fridge then out and in the microwave next day :-D

Nothing bad has happened yet, fingers crossed

it's probably the best way to reheat them but keep them covered or they'll dry out. When you think they are done make a cut in the thickest bit and check it's very hot in the middle

Rice pudding is reheated from the tins or the fridge one. Take away food is reheated. I usually reheat left over rice for lunch at work too. It's probably the way you have to store them once they've been cooked and cooled down. Then when you reheat the rice, just make sure they are hot, and becareful not to dry them out....you could add a little bit of water in them before hand.

Back to OP question.... the answer is Yes. Ready meals that have chicken in them are pre-cooked and you just have to reheat them when you want to eat them.

you can reheat rice as well. It's a common misconception that rice cannot be reheated. As long as it has been stored properly, then it is safe to reheat. To store it properly it must not be left at room temperature, so you need to cool it in the fridge ASAP and then put it in the freezer if you want to store it there. To reheat, simply defrost in the micro or fridge and heat as normal.

Yes, cooked chicken breast can be reheated ONCE.

if it smells ok, eat it ;-)

i keep cooked rice in the fridge for up to about 1 week, never made me sick
[mod]#24
Yes, but remember to put sun cream on the chickens nipples as you don't want them too rubbery. :-D

I like breasts

Never knew that about rice, I dont take any precautions to rice... leave it in the rice cooker in the kitchen... and normally be ok to eat in the morning or even evening meal, otherwise fridge for day after.. If what you say about rice is true... What about congee*? you can cook and recook (x4) that.. without it being in the fridge.

*Congee is a porridge like substance, made from rice and water (lots of). takes a while to cook but its lovely with chicken and soy sauce, best thing for colds or sore throats :) or a clear and mild meal, very light and good for hangovers too.

Replying to OP's post: reheating chicken is fine.

i thought this was a show us your pics thread doh!!!! :p

yeah you can reheat you're chicken but make sure its well cooked all the way through:thumbsup:

Not a problem just get them nice and hot (over 70 degrees) will be fine, not reheating to a high enough temp will cause the problem
