Hope Celtic can just out muscle them and get through.

Celtic have no chance, being realistic here!

You really, really , dont want to be happy with this.

Come on Celtic

Arsnal are rubbish againist teams who are phsical. Just look at the teams that beat them last year. So Celtic have every chance of doing something.

I'm not going to say Celtic are favourites or even 50/50 but they still have a chance.

Just look at last few years in group stages we came up againist Man U we got good results

I'm quite happy with the draw...Arsenal have always had a really tight bond with Liverpool and Celtic fans for decades, so this'll be a nice affair. :)

The atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric and may the best team win (Arsenal lol)...I'm hoping to get some tickets for the second leg. :)

I take it you're a Rangers fans...I don't think you should comment on skill level when your whole team were embarrassed by a 17 year old last weekend. LMAO

Oh and this guy is now eligible for champs league

Rangers fullback Steven Whittaker admits Arsenal gave him an education on Sunday at Emirates stadium.

"Sometimes it was like they had more men in their team."

It was a joke. I sit 2 seats away from Paddy C in work and just noising him up.
I hope Celtic beat Arsenal as would be good to have 2 Scottish teams in the Champs league again.
Yes I'm a gers fan and yes Arsenal were much better team. Expected it with the money and the pull for players the EPL has.

Should be a good tie.............beats watching matches against some unheard of teams.

Fair dos mate. :)

BTW, I don't think you should talk about money...Rangers probably spend more than Arsenal every season, so you can't use that excuse. :w00t:

We've made a profit of £31m this season based on buying and selling this summer alone. haha

Big deal. I've seen Man Utd make Arsenal look like shool boys before. Teams have good days and bad days. Real Madrid beat Barca 1-0 one week and then got thumped 5-1 the following week by Barca. Does that mean Madrid are crap. Think not. Thats football for you.
sometimes other teams just give a great footballing display and theres nothing the other team can do about it.

What they gonna do with the money. Any players in the pipeline?
Rangers havent signed one player yet and it's a worry as we were murder to watch last year.
Thought they might use the Champs league money but their paying off debts with it.
Celtic on the other hand never had champs league money and have went out and definately improved on their squad.

That'll be good to help with your debts.

Over £1200M is a lot of debt!

PS - I think Ars*nal fans have a cheek to suggest Spurs are Yids.

I reckon we'll get a win at parkhead, the atmosphere will be fantastic, and probably like nothing the arsenal team have experienced before.

Might struggle a bit at the emirates mind. If we do somehow manage to get through, mowbray will be a god!!!

Ive been to Parkhead(My best mate is a Celtic fan). It was for the win against Man Utd. It was extremely electric.

But.... Im an Arsenal fan. I went to see Arsenal vs Fenerbache, and that atmosphere blew me away. I had to cover my ears everynow and again, it was insane. I also went to the AC Milan game.

It didnt phase them one bit, beating fenerbahce 5-2 and Milan 2-0

The link provided above suggests otherwise.

Why else would an ailing club not buy new players and only sell?

Arsenal are ailing?

Should be a pretty easy route through for the gunners. Mowbray tried to play nice football last year with West Brom and he'll probably try it again with Celtic - in which case Arsenal will tear them apart.

Haha, arsenal may make it through, but it'll be far from easy, they need to get past big Artur for a start. Arsenal, on the other hand, have Almunia and I'm far from convinced he's a good keeper....

Mowbray admitted his influence in style of football is from Wenger's blueprint.

I will laugh if Celtic come at Arsenal.

This springs to mind

They've become a sellig club, have debts larger than the clubs value and on top of that, its been yonks since they've won anything.

That doesn't suggest everything is fine to me.

They've sold Adebayor and Toure for good money, and signed a promising young defender and should get another striker.

Hardly 'ailing'.

I wasn't just referring to this season.

PS... why the change of tune? When spurs sold Berbatov and Keane - you labelled us a selling club - despite the fact Spurs spend as much as any top team - and you can hardly say the £52 we got wasn't a good deal for us.

Would you say £1200M of debt is a lot of money?
#28
They were only 4 points off from winning the league season before last.
[mod]#29
I think the fact that Arsenal are looking back to Viera is a sign they've stagnated lately.

There's a difference between selling players who aren't doing the business like they used to (like Arsenal did) and selling players who you don't want to sell but can't convince to stay (like Spurs did with Berbatov and Keane).

It depends if debt is manageable or not.

£750k for a player who can bring in experience and still do it 20 games a season seems like a good move - and Spurs were after him too.

That's the problem, i can't see him managing 20 games a season unless it's in the lesser games and cups.

Viera will be brought in to help the team close down tight game's.

20 mins or so left on the clock.

The team are young and need to be shown how its done.

OMG - you dont half come out with some toot.

By all means tell me what the difference was between Berbatov and Adebeyor. I mean, he was so integral to Spurs plans, he never even featured in friendlies! Explain the differences between Keane and Toure? Both bids out of the blue and Keane's for biting hand off territory.

Berbatov made it clear to Spurs he wanted to join United. Adebeyor just wanted to leave. Which is worse in your eyes?

If you could find one Arsenal fan who was sad to see Adebayor go, I'd be surprised. He was awful last season. He looked disinterested as soon as the season started and I really don't think he would've been first choice this season.

Van Persie and Eduardo will be. I think he'll also struggle at Man City.

Berbatov and Keane were the first choice strikers at Spurs.

£16 million for Toure was amazing money - especially if they bring in Bread of Heaven from Fulham.

Find me one Spurs fan who wasnt happy to see the back of Berbatov and didn't think £22M for Keane was an offer we couldn't refuse.

BTW - who was the replacement for Henry?

I think you will also find we spent the money we got for both...... They may have been bad buys (which isnt relevant) but we spend money.

But anyway - enough of the subject change..........

£1200M debt is ailing IMHO.

A bit contracdictery there first you only sell players who don't do the business, has Viera learned to do the business again?

Who ever Arsenal have playing Celtic will give them a match in both legs. Arsenal have to be favourites but will make it all the sweeter if Celtic get through.

Arsenal got good money for Vieira especially when you consider Fabregas was pushing for his place in the team. It was a good deal at the time.

Arsenal's biggest mistake was losing Flamini and not replacing him. Vieira can do a job and help players like Denilson and Song.
