Can anyone recommend a simple broadband data usage monitor, that can monitor how much data we download in our household including all devices and wifi ?

I have tried using my netgear router "show statistics" option , but can't make head or tail of it.

Thanks.

Who's your provider?
Maybe they have the facility online?
I'm with bt and can check usage online anytime.

Unfortunately I've been taken over by Talk Talk Business (used to be with F2s).
Have tried getting through to talk talk but gave up trying after a few attempts of waiting over 15 mins on hold - even though it was an 0800 number.

I'm looking at moving to BT when I eventually get through to Talk Talk to get my MAC code (but that's another story). I've emailed talk talk but they won't issue any mac code in email they keep telling me they only do it via phone call. Clearly they're making it very difficult to leave them.

Any particular reason for moving to BT?

Don't like TTB, lots of neighbours with BT and fairly happy with service, so thought I'd give them (or plusnet) a try.

Have you had a look at your online account with talk talk to see what details are there?
Sometimes you can request a mac code through there too.
Although when you're an import from F2s that mightn't be setup for you but worth a look.

Normal talk talk shows your usage online.

eventually got through to TTB yesterday they directed me to [email protected] I found their Customer services a waste of time and very rude! They had me wait till they finished typing last customers call details, wouldn't normally mind if it was quick.

eventually got some info after trial and error. It seems I'm on 5gb per month, I'm sure I was on 20GB with F2s before TTB took over. Seems very low considering how much the family use the internet, eg iplayer, youtube and emails .oO
Vinnyabdn: How do you find BT? I thinking of going with their £13 per month online offer (18 month contract 10GB download, free w/ed and evening calls (which I already get with my BT line anyway) and 4 free months online £182.

I'm on 10GB/ month and sometimes go over, and generally find it fairly expensive, thinking Sky next year when contract is up, only went with BT cause they were all that could supply Broadband at decent price here but TalkTalk and Sky are getting into my area now.
Used to be £1 per GB if you went over 2 months running now it's an auto £5 for upto 5GB over even if you barely pass your 10. They also email when you get to 7GB of your 10GB so you are aware.
Rang them in Feb to ask about my contract timing and realising I was fed up they knocked £5/month off.
Other than that I have great connection and decent Speed.
Next Feb probably going with Sky.

Aparantly sky track your downloads according to some of my friends

I'd go with bt if you can get for cheap, I was going to switch to sky and bt offered me a unlimited contract for 15.50
