Hi,

I Can assure you that this has not happend as you say, if you ask him to check the outages over the weekend he will be able to confirm that there was a username/password issue. I have been working on your account to see if i can improve the service for you and managed to have your traffic shaping removed and get you connected at a faster speed, im not sure if you noticed this or not. Im not here to cause you problems. If you take a look on http://www.thnkbroadband.com you will see that i regularly help people on the forums and have not attempted to cause any issues as you say.

As a gesture of good will i have raised a credit on your account for 50.00 and discounted your package to give you half price line rental for 6 months. if you have any more issues please feel free to let me know.

Regards,

TTBoy

so what does the above mean?
i did notice a difference and as i mentioned the other day it is connected over 8mbps,i know you are 8mbps maximum but i am connected over that and i can show you a screen shot if you want,
and 1time when i phoned i was told i was connected at 8.1mbps but my computer said 8.4mbps

is it just a hick up or something?[/quote]
No ive moved you onto another profile which is not available to most talktalk customers. Its one that will allow you to connect at up to 24mbit. But this all depends on your distance from the exchange and it appears you are now connected at the maximum your line can support. If you were to plug into the Test socket in your house you could possibly get a faster speed as the internal wiring tends to lower the speed quite alot.

he is a very dedicated person,he loves his job and does everything to help

i did not ask for anything at all apart from a router i asked talktalk and got it and he gave me one also,
i got my stuff for been silly and saying i hate them and they are AR**S and i will take over millions of computers and do a DDOS on talktalk and thats how he gave me the stuff as he knew i was not happy

bear in mind you are not threating him with anything like i did and he was so helpful so surely he will sort your problem out

ok my expereinces changed when talktalkboy helped me i actually like them now i can download anytime, high speed its reliable and only times out around 1 time a fortnight where i need to re-boot router but since im un-cappeb i basically abuse it to make up for the problems i first expereinced

as far as i can remember i was told talktalk cuts you off on a night sometimes when you are capped but deny any knowledge of it so if yours cut off it should not now

my next thing to do is pressure BT in to changing my line so i can get a faster speed
#19
if i have any problems in the future i will look into asking Talktalkboy about it good idea....

What do you expect BT to do? Talk Talk are your service provider. NOT BT. Wat exchange in the North East you off?

I'm on a talk talk line. Just thought I'd say.

you need a bt line before talktalk take you on they dont own the lines

No you don't, TALK TALK (have there own gear in the exchanges) and many other service providers can install there own lines in your house now using BT/Openreachs network (you have the ofcom to thank for this). BT have nothing at all to do with your line Openreach is a BT company but totally impartial to any one service provider. If you have a fault on your line voice or ADSL you would report the fault to TALKTALK who would raise a job with Openreach for an engineer to visit. If the copper/ali/lead in the ground is useless and no good for carrying ADSL this would be a job for Openreach again to bring the network up to quality. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.

Also your download speed was restricted because you had been classed as a high user, possibly to do with P2P software or downloading games, films and software. Ive had this restriction removed for you.

Yeah i dont think we are on a BT line know it said Cable when i put my Number into SKY website

and for anyone else thats on about internet i dont want to know mine works and the person needing help got theires working so anyone with same problem only has to follow what embers did and i did to get it working but would be helpful if they could post a pic of download speed then get it sorted then post a new pic so we can see the difference

it mightn't be now but talktalkboy said bt needs to upgrade before we can reach full speed

for e.g if we got bethere 24 it would max out at 8mbps where i am cos my line cant handle any more until bt upgrade(or who ever owns it)
others might get full speed but i max out at just under 9mbps
#30
i see

Yes but talk talk still own the line, but BT have to upgrade all the equipment to ADSL 2+ to get over 8 meg. As BT control that still.

yeah thats right i thought cos bt installed the sockets they always owned the line
#32
Firstly if you check your T&C it always says 'up to 8mb' this does not mean you will get 8mb, the distant from the Exchange is a major factor also. TalkTalk do have QoS or traffic shapping in place for reducing how much bandwidth you take, if they feel you are DLing too much, basically.

thats the point i had it but then got it removed how hard is that to understand?because its straight forward to me
1,my net goes slow and downloads slow
2,im told im capped
3,i get un-capped

wheres the hard part in that?

i actually connect over 8mbps and im not complaining about the speed im more than happy with the speed and performance talktalk gives me

BT no longer install lines, an Openreach (a BT Group company) Engineer will install your line on behlaf of your chosing communications provider, be it talk talk, BT, Post Office, or dodgy bobs telco.
It's upto talktalk not BT to upgarde talk talks equipment in the exchange. Be/o2 could offer upto 24meg over the same cable in the ground due to thier equipment in the exchnage.
I'm an Openreach CSE (customer service engineer) so I know what I'm talking about.

IF you are right how comes you can not connect to talktalk unless you are currently a bt customer?
#39
Talk Talk can take over a BT line or any other service providers, but they will also Install lines, when I get a job for a Talk Talk customer all I get in my jobs notes is service provider Opal Telecom and your (the end users) address along with details of the problem/provision.

AND I AM RIGHT

what exchnage you off?
