BT contract is up. Only on 10gb download limit deal with £6.25 by vision pack (last years renewal).

Just wondering if anyone got a good renewal deal or knows of a good comparison site? In work so will check later. Have a good day guys!

Avoid O2 like the plague would be my advice.

Why? Their mobile network is staffed by people who I'd like to set on fire, but their broadband's always been good for me.

The best ISP's IMO are BE* Broadband or SKY, see if you can change, anyone is better then BT, who have the worst customer service known to man!

ive just left bt for the post office unlimiteddownloads, phone package including line rental for £27 per month

+1 for BE Broadband. Been with them for years now, never had a problem. Just wish they would hurry up and get a Fibre package rolled out. One of the only ISP's out there now that don't traffic manage and have true unlimited packages.

Oh and cashback hehe

if you can get virgin do it, I first went with then when they were Nthell took a gamble but never had a problem in 7 years. regularly do speed checks at all times of the day and it's always what it should be and ther about to upgrade the 20meg to 30 foc

Because their current packages are expensive and have ridiculous traffic shaping in effect - which renders their broadband almost useless - i.e. you have a line which supports 20Mb down, they throttle that down to 250kb/s down or less if using p2p package dependent.

Ah, I see. This'd explain my spectacularly rubbish torrent speeds (40KB/s), I suppose. Newsgroups absolutely fly along though, like around 2MB/s consistently for days on end, so I'm happy enough with the service.

with o2 atm ,used to be really good with speeds etc, but seem to be getting slower and router seems to crash/reset a lot - really thinking of going to virgin broadband but dont want a tv package or phoneline

I've called them up again and have now got them to admit their error when they tried to move me to new packages - now have 'The Works' for free for 12 months, and home phone unlimited calls anytime for £12.50pm - not bad, although there's still some traffic management, but I can work around that.

Any help please.
I am on Tiscali and believe you me -no company is worse -cant get emails or send half the time ,keeps asking for password and no matter how many times you put it in it still askd for it, dropped connection , router not working properly ,have to keep unplugging and resetting(new Talk Talk one 2 months ago) pathetic tech line , usless , only tell you to reset router , go into router settings -which i have done that often can troubleshoot all that myself , staff are incompetent , rude ,cant talk or understand English properly and lately there is also loads of background noise too .
I hate them with a vengence -but desperately looking elsewhere - too far from exchange - only BT in exchange , therefor no cheap deals (only want BB) not a heavy downloader , just a few videos, tunes and Apps from itunes -maybe a dozen a month at the most .
O2 wanted £26 , !!
Looking at Plusnet or BT -but in honesty -all seem to have bad reputation !!!
Looked at Be -but can''t get that at all .
I am getting 1.5 max speed.

Had a BT call last night as it happens. Broadband due again for 12 months - had it free for 6months after last renewal. Now offered BT Vision Gold for £12.99 pm as opposed to Bronze which we currently have for £14.99 pm. Pretty happy with Vision and Broadband to be honest and not a bad deal. I use to hate BT but I so think they've improved a hell of a lot. We have the vision as we can't get Sky because of a big mountain being in the way apparently (one of the frustrating things for our whole street). Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the advice. Will look into it all over the next few days. I'm in an area where you can't get cable Internet so my options may be limited! Unlimited downloads would be super as we have a ps3 in the living room and could just watch Internet tv! By vision is good but we have watched Plenty of stuff we didn't need to bother with. Hmm, see what I can find! When u change provider is there a risk you go a few days with no phone or Internet? Never done it before!

Agree with the Tiscali thing...never been with them myself, but I work for the Ombudsman who deals with their complaints...and i'd never go there as a result.

I've never had a problem with BT , now looking forward to faster speeds with fbre rollout.
