blame kanye west.

on a second note, say it was a birthday present, you've just opened it and it's like that.

On if you have accidental insurance cover for it. As its accidental damage, not a fault due to manufacture error

Also your insurance will probably have an excess so you would only get what the camera cost over the excess is on your accidental damage, if you even have it. You can replace the screen if it's cost-effective, I've done it in the past, but it depends on which camera it is as to how easy replacing it is. Sometimes it's better just buying a new one and selling your broken one on ebay as spares/repair.

Where would i get a new screen from? It's a Casio Exilim EX-Z20 by the way.

In the past I've bought broken cameras off eBay as long as the parts I needed were still working on them, then taken them to bits and repaired them. Had a look, but nothing on eBay at the moment and Google doesn't throw much up for replacement screens.

Do you have an excess on your insurance for accidental damage? If it's £50-100 then you might be as well just buying a new one without claiming your insurance as there are a lot of decent cameras around. The EX-Z80 is £106.99 with free P&P at MyMemory in Light Pink, Light Blue and Black: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Digital-Cameras if that's an option. Not used them before, but they're on Quidco so it'll be a safe merchant to use and they give 4% cashback on any purchases.
