Hi Guys, can any one help?
My Messenger Live loads ok (most of the time), its just that it has stopped altering me when I have a new message after the first initial load up. When I read the new email it doesnt automatically update still saying that I have read the email or tell me when I have a new one, it just stays the same after the initial load!
I have checked the settings, and it is ticked to alert me when I get a new one, and all that but Im still having no joy! This is becoming really annoying now, can any one help please? Cheers!

probably spyware or a virus taken hold. you click on a link you shouldn't have?

i have the exact same problem. The new email notification disappears after some time but not straight away as it used to.

I am using a BETA version of the new MSN live messenger and can only assume this is a bug as I have a corporate virus scanner which constantly monitors activity. I am 95% sure its not a virus or malware of some sort.

I hope not. I'm normally quite careful.......... any ideas how i find out?

Also, for ages now, I haven't been able to send photo's. Its says that Im trying to use activeX in an unsafe manner, but normally when this comes up it allows you to ignore it, but it wont in hotmail.
afte that it say i can press upload now to upload the photo's but it there doesn't seem to be such a button - any ideas?

Thankd for your replies by the way.

i have just updated my msn live and i too have have a problem , IE hangs when trying to read mail. i assume this is a similar problem to yours? if so then you can just go to filehippo and install an older version again until the bugs are sorted.

previous beta http://filehippo.com/download_msn_messenger/?3149

previous Live http://filehippo.com/download_msn_messenger/?1408

Previous live if your having errors. Beta is a test version if you will
#11
yup, the previous live is the most recent version before Beta so thats the best one for now, although i'm sure i had the older Beta and it worked fine. try both :)

version 7 was stable. I find version 8 to be quite buggy and not as smooth.

it doesnt annoy me too much tho so I am not too bothered of downgrading.

Hi guys thanks for all this - I really appreciate it. BUT I have just tried to install version 8.0.0812
Microsoft Corporation - 16.38MB (Freeware) and it download all ok, but when i try to sign it it tells me "a newer version is available. YOu must install the newer version in order to continue. Would you like to install it now? yes or No." when i press no, it wont let me sign in ! RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Does version 7 have live email notifications - or is that the point of 8 and about being "LIVE"?
#14
version 7 is just as good in the major functionalities as version 8. Theres small differences but you should be ok with 7.

uninstall it completely and then install the older version, that should work for you.
