Have you signed up for free weekend and evening calls.

I pay my line rental to Tiscali ... which includes up to 8mb broadband (unlimited downlaods) & free calls 24/7 (except to mo fo's & 08 numbers) £19.99 per month .. I think this is pretty reasonable

line rental is £11.75 per month if your on direct debit, you can get free evening and weekend calls for the same price if you sign onto a 12 month renewable contract

BT line rental is 10.50 on direct debit. The so called free evening and weekend calls cost 2.75 on the first bill and is then refunded on the following bills.

i think its something to do with the paperless billing or something we got a letter saying if we opted for paperless billing we would save a few quid, but since line rental was going up it actaully made no differance.

yeah thats before vat so from now on with vat and paying by direct debit its gonna cost 35.25 quartly

No 10.50 is inclusive of VAT and is the total amount I pay per month. My quarterly bill is 31.50, never changes as all my calls are through another supplier. Only use BT for 0800 numbers and weekend calls.
According to the website this has not changed to date.

I believe there is an additional charge now if you do not make any calls through BT. Can't remember how much this is, but by using the 0800 and free calls you can keep this at bay.

Line Rental with BT is £13.25, you get £1.50 discount being direct debit (£11.75) and £1.25 discount going paper free (£10.50) inc VAT. Evening and weekend calls are £2.70 but you can get them free on a special offer they are doing at the moment

cheers nono2522 have just gone on website and gone paper free. i have paper free bills for everything else anyway but think its a bit of a joke that i have always paid about 11 pounds a month untill this bill where there was no warning and they just said i owe them 35.25 quarterly now

you would have got a letter to say the line rental was increasing. Its the 1st time its increased in at least 2 years (i work for BT and thats how long ive been there!)

Would have and should have are too very different things. Not had anything through BT myself outlining change, apart from the harrassing calls trying to get me to sign up to their 12 month contract.
